With a little 'help' from Haley

I knew John wouldn't go along with Kay's thoughts (and, honestly, if I hadn't already proved that Kay was a legal adult I wouldn't have allowed him to), so I took my cue. Immediately starting a loop of the last few seconds of John silently contemplating his choices, I called John using a proxy number. Seeing the screen of his phone light up, John did exactly as I imagined he would: he answered and near instantly forgot what he had been doing.

"Yes?" At that second, I cut the loop allowing John's answer to be heard clearly by Kay.

"Perfect!" Kay announced happily. "This is going to be so much fun!"

"Wait!" John commanded, almost hysterically.

"Nope!" Kay denied. "No getting cold feet. You already agreed. Now..." Kay smirked. "what do we bet on first?"
