Why?

I feel nothing but relief as the bell rings and the class ends. As we all stand I look to my right and see that pretty girl who talked to me earlier is still staring directly at me. I panic for a second and stammer something before she has the chance...

"Ma'am... I uh... You never told me your name.. "

Her face goes fully red "What!?!... Oh yes!... I'm so stupid... Yes!... I'm... My name is Momo... "

I nod "it's nice to meet you..."

She's about to say something but the girl with the strange ears grabs her on the shoulder.

"Momo let's go! We're supposed to meet Mei for those costume alterations we talked about remember?"

She seems shocked to see her "Oh! Oh yes! Of course! I um... It was nice to meet you sir, I will always... Um... Just I'll see you later ok?"

I nod "Yes..."

In a flash the other girl is pulling her forward out of the room. I stand in a daze for a moment watching her leave. That's the first time someone has called me sir... Like I was actually a man... As everyone files out I see Tsu at the front of the class smiling at me, I smile back relieved to see her. Just before she speaks the teacher interrupts her...

"Vengeance I wish to speak with you alone..."

Tsu looks shocked, she looks between the two of us a few times before catching my eyes and mouthing the words "I'll wait outside."

I give a hesitant nod as she walks out, the concern on her face has me more than worried. The door screeches as it closes, me and him stand in silence.

"I was against you being here..."

I close my eyes and take a deep breath "I understand..."

I hear him drop his clipboard on the desk "Do you? Tell me why do you want to be a hero?"

I open my eyes but still look down at the ground "Well Tsu said..."

He interrupts me "I didn't ask about her... I asked why YOU want to be a hero."

I grit my teeth "Sir... I..."

Before I can respond I look up and am nearly blinded by a blue light. He has activated his red quirk nullifying eyes, my eyes activated in kind. Even through the blue light shining through my eyes I can see his anger.

"A quirk you can't control is a liability on the battlefield... Why do you want to be a hero?"

In response to his anger I feel my own rising, I don't think its my quirk though, it's my own feelings.

"Why? Thats a foolish question sir..."

He begins to walk toward me never breaking his red gaze, I do the same.

"Answer me Vengeance..."

I take two small deep breaths and forcibly close my eyes against the will of my quirk.

"So no child... No person... Ever has to become what I have..."

I hear nothing but silence for a moment.

"Fine... Be on time tomorrow..."

I keep my eyes closed as I hear the door screech, when I open them all I see is an empty classroom. Tsu's cute face pops through the door.

"How'd it go? *ribbit*"
