Whitley Schnee was sitting at a table with a pair of body guards his father had hired. When his father had heard of the event he had sent him to vale to improve the company image. He had given him a large amount of money and was told to spend it on a girl to show the Schnee dust company making a large donation to the kingdom of vale. He had went over the profiles provided on each girl and at first was tempted to just bid on his sister being the safe option and prevent some of the competitors who had come to this event to win the date and try to use her to get into the SDC. That was the plan till he came across her profile.

Ruby Rose her eyes as bright as polished silver and a smile that would be worth a thousand of the gems she was named after. as he read her file and dug a bit deeper he found her more and more interesting. she was the youngest ever to be accepted into beacon academy that showed she was very advance for her age. Her grades were in the upper middle area. While not the best could easily be explained by being moved up two years early and trying to catch up on what she missed. He was fairly positive that come the beginning of next year she will move up to near the top of the class now that she had mostly caught up with what she missed.

As he watched her step on stage first he could not help but let the smile form on his face. of course as a Schnee he should not have to wait for his target and just took it as a sign that he had chosen the right girl. he had waited for the bidding to rise to a respectable two thousand three hundred lien before he decided to step in. "One hundred thousand Lein," He said out loud.

The reaction to his statement was most amusing. a few of the current bidders dropped in despair knowing they lost this round. seeing the shocked look on Ozpin's face as he almost dropped his mike out of shock almost made him laugh. the most amusement thing was the look on both his sisters face when she saw who it was and of course the face of Ruby. she was blushing to the point her head was as red as a true ruby and was trying to come to terms with what she just heard. his sister had a look of pure rage and looked like she wanted to jump down from the stage and start beating him.

"one hundred thousand lien going once, twice sold to the youngest Schnee," Ozpin said. Ruby started to walk off the stage in auto pilot still trying to come to terms with how much he bid. Being the gentleman that he is he walked up to her and offered to help her to his table she accepted his offer.

"Hello miss Rose, I'm Whitley Schnee and I hope we can have a fun time," Whitley said.
