Courtney Sutherland was marrying her third husband. Courtney had been previously married to two wealthy men but divorced both in nasty drawn out proceedings. Despite that, she was always in the society pages for her elaborate parties.

She was now 45 and was schedule to marry. Thomas Slade, a 60 year old investment banker. Courtney's 21 year old daughter Natasha was to be the maid of honor. Natasha was a model and internet personality.
