We walk to the hotel first.

Cassey?s hotel is only a few blocks away so we decide to walk there.

Cassey looks up at the black night sky and says, ?You were right, you can?t see much of the stars here in the city.?

?Yeah,? I respond, ?it?s amazing how long it?s been since I even thought about the stars. I had almost forgotten they were there.?

Cassey gives me a questioning look, ?Why??

?You know, I?m not sure. I think that it has something to do with my job. You spend most of your time looking under rocks for people trying to hide or keep something hidden that you forget to look up.?

?The way you said that, do you really have so little faith in people??

I sigh, ?No?Yes?I don?t know, maybe.?

We walk up to one of the high-class hotels in the city. ?Wait,? I say, ?You?re staying here? How much does a museum pay??

She laughs, ?Not enough to pay for a room here, I can assure you of that. A rather wealthy benefactor is paying for all the expenses associated with this undertaking.?

?Does he know that you?re staying in one of the most expensive hotels in the state??

?She most certainly does. It was her idea in fact.?

Cassey checks to see if she has any messages and then we go to her room. It?s a large suite with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen (I doubt it gets used much), and a balcony with a spectacular view.

?Do you realize that one bedroom in here is almost as big as my apartment?? I say with disbelief.

Cassey blushes, ?I know it?s a bit much, but since I am in charge of this investigation my benefactor insisted on first class everything.?

?Who is your benefactor exactly??

?She prefers to remain anonymous, sorry.? Cassey tries to change the subject, ?So do you want to here the rest of the story of Apollo and Daphne or will you tell me why you have so little faith in people?? Her hand reaches out and touches my cheek. ?Or perhaps we can do something?else??
