Ways to Properly Introduce Characters
as the title implies in this section we will cover how to properly introduce characters now first let me explain what that means by characters i am referring to any character from a anime, manga,tv show, movie, comic, book or any other media that is not your own work the characters i am referring to are generally more anime or manga characters and this article will cover introducing them in the context of a survival story and how to do it as well as how to adapt their various circumstances to the story in a way that gives meaning to them being there beyond fan service
before we start the list theres a question you need to answer are you going to limit who ad from where you can summon?to put the question in context let me give an example:say your story takes place in a doomsday setting(zombies and all that)are you going to limit the summons to similar scenarios or to media that would fit in or are you going to include everything(as in any summon you can think of)?keep in mind especially if the charecter keeps thier full memory not every charecter fits in everywhere
the first thing to consider first is who you are going to use second is how much of their own story they remember or rather from what point in time you pulled them or did you just pull the character without any history or story progress?this may not seem important but many characters can be anywhere from slightly to totally different depending how much they have experienced one example many would know is hinata from naruto as a child she was shy as the series progress she gets more brave by the time the series is over not only has she grown up but she doesn't faint from naruto any more pulling hinata before the timeskip would be a shy hinata while after would be a more confident one another thing to consider is if you pull a a after the time skip hinata from when after and how much does she remember?more importantly as many use hinata as a love interest for the mc how much of her feelings for nuruto or the village remain? while you can also portray her as a clean slate many dont so knowing how to manage point two is an art form third is when summoned how are they summoned?or rather what is their attitude to the mc(or the summoner)is it neutral?shocked?full loyalty and if so how is that expressed differently depending on how the mc sees the summoned if he see a female he likes is that loyalty include the bed and how does it differ from summon to summon this is important for consistency a favorite way i have read to handle this is two:first the loyalty is max but for any intimate things the mc has to work a little second is the realistic approach i call it the character is summoned with about 60 or so loyalty out of 100 and the mc has to treat the summoned more like a person this i feel is more like normal interaction forth is what comes with them and in what state? this questions aimed mainly at skills and equipment based on what time you called your character what skills do they have?how does those skills translate into your story can they use them if so how are they expressed if for example there is no chakra for a ninja?can they use other energies if so do they know how to do so from the start or do they have to learn first?as for equipment this is targeted specially for op gear many characters get some op equipment so does your character come with theirs if so how does that power translate to strength in your story(this will be covered more deeply in the next item)is their equipment sealed or some other plot for fairness or do they only have a basic equivalent of their gear? fifth is power levels many characters get quite powerful by the end how does that power translate into their strength when summoned?
