Water!

Shannon stumbled over another red rock hill, now gasping and dragging her legs as she trudged on.
She was dehydrated and near heat exhaustion. She raised over the hill to see a lake below her. A lake! WATER!

She charged forward heedlessly. She threw aside her jacket as she ran. She reached the water's edge, falling to her knees. She plunged her head in blissfully. Somehow, even under this intense sun the water was a mild 60 degrees! She started using her hand to lap up the water.

Now, normally on an alien world, one would scan any water source before bathing in it or drinking it! But, Shannon had no scanners on her. Luckily their modern medical technology was pretty amazing. There were very few amoeba or germs that could not easily be lasered out of the body or dealt with using ****. And this very much tasted like clean, pure H20!

After Shannon had drank her fill she quickly threw off her shoes. She unbuttoned her sweat soaked blouse then slid it off. Standing she let her pants fall to the ground, then slipped off her stockings. Now, clad only in a bra and panties she leapt into the water.

She splashed around, feeling the cool water sooth her scorched skin. This was pure bliss after the hours of heat! She closed her eyes and paddled around this small, strange lake, totally unaware what was in store for her...
