Chapter 5
by jannal
Ugh... what happens next?
Wake up 'rescued'
Slowly your senses return you, although it feels like your head will be aching for days. You groan quietly and blink your eyes back open, adjusting to the flickering light and strange smells of the cavern. You're laying on your back in a crudely constructed wooden cage. You're still dressed and you guess that's a good thing; you roll onto your side and then rise to your feet, still feeling very unsteady.
Peering out between the bars of the cage, you see that you're in a different part of the maze than you were when you encountered the Minotaur. To your shock, you see that instead of the bull-man it seems like you've been saved by a trio of strange dog-like humanoids. They're smaller than humans, just barely coming up to your shoulder and, although they're rippling muscles are clearly visible beneath their coats of hair, they seem to be fast and sleek. They remind you of an Alaskan husky, if a husky could walk on it's hind legs and wield weapons.
The largest of the group is wearing a loose breastplate of some kind, it looks like a large number of rods have been woven together and draped over his broad chest. All three wear leather breechcloths at their waists and some kind of decorative woven bracelet on their wrists. You look around in confusions and astonishment; you weren't expecting to find anyone like this in the maze.
From what you can see, one of the three looks injured. He's laying on his back while the smaller of the other two tends to some painful looking bruises. You're even more surprised when you realize that the wounded dog-man is talking.
"...minotaur had me bound up like some kind of pet," he growls, "Thought I was finished." He pauses and then points in your direction, "The human is awake."
The largest of the three lays his sword carefully on the ground and approaches the cage.
What does he want?
