Waiting Room

As the woman was about to lead poor Jessica to a small cot with a blanket, they were stopped by another woman.

“Annie, why don’t I take over for you. You’ve been wanting a break anyway.”

Annie lightly shoves Jessica aside while gleefully checking her makeup and phone. The other woman offers Jessica a chair by the front door, to which, Jessica doesn’t hesitate to accept.

“I’m sorry about Annie. She’s a bit...”

“Dumb? I-I mean ignorant?” Jessica corrects herself.

“Yep. I’m Abby, by the way.”

“I’m Jessica.”

“If you’re waiting for your friend’s niece, Barbara, was it? Barbara has to sign her out. Here’s a plan. You wait here for Barbara to eventually show up to get her niece. Sound good?”

“Sounds great, thanks.” Jessica felt a huge weight of responsibility lifting off of her.

“It’s a shame about your car though.” Abby said, showing remorse.

“Oh, it’s my fault. Stupid mistake. I have information at home to get it back.” Jessica flippantly responded.

As time ticked by, Jessica sat in the small waiting area for what seemed like an hour. Feeling an urge starting to build up inside, Jessica spots a nearby restroom that is relatively small and in constant use by the children. Every minute the toilet flushes, Agitates Jessica’s bladder making her visibly squirm in her seat
