Wait patiently, then rush to dinner!

You're in no rush for dinner and you've already split one shower today. You can wait your turn in the bathroom. While you're waiting, you try to stretch after all that running around. You know you didn't learn much in your grade school gym classes, but you did learn how sore you could end up the next day. You also don't really want to sit down on your chair or bed while you're all sweaty. You strut around the dorm room looking for things you can use to flex your legs and just general thinking. Eventually, you hear the shower stop, and, within a few minutes, Emily steps out of the bathroom wrapped in her towels. You waste no time and scurry past her, fresh clothes in hand, and restart the water flow.

You haven't really gotten the hang of it yet, but you do your best to wash your lengthy hair and the sweatbox trapped between your legs. It's one plus of your experience as a guy: you can shower in just a few minutes, whereas Emily was closer to half an hour. You dry off, get changed, then step out of the bathroom. Your roommate is already dressed up and ready to go. You don't even get to check the time before your roommate drags you out to toward the dining hall for your double dinner date.

You're walking pretty briskly, so the evening air feels good on your thighs. You're glad Emily talked you into buying those booty shorts; they really help keep you cool in the heat. Plus you think you see a few guys checking out your legs (that or they're checking out your roommate's ass). You thought you were heading to the campus dining hall, so you're a bit surprised when Emily instead drags you into the nearby resident parking lots and leads you to her car. She hops in the driver seat and you sit shotgun.

"Don't worry," she reassures you. "I changed up the plan while you were in the shower." Together, you drive off through campus. It's a new perspective on the campus for you, you can already tell that just walking can be a lot more efficient with all of the footpaths compared to the singular road that cuts right through the middle of all the parking lots and buildings. There are also at least a dozen stop signs before you get outside of campus and onto a main road.

Emily drives you through a residential area before you come to the stop in a small lot. Stepping out, you realize it's a park and playground, with a small pavilion with some picnic tables. That's where you spot Olivia and Velvet, along with the nerdy girl from lunch. They already have a few to-go boxes spread on the table. You and Emily approach and she takes the open seat between Olivia and the nerdy girl, immediately they start gabbing, leaving you to sit on the other side next to velvet, the redhead. Though you were playing on the same side during frisbee, you don't recall exchanging a single word with her. You're pretty sure she's also a freshman like you and Naomi. That said, you're curious how Naomi ended up here.

Almost like she can read your mind (or more likely, she noticed your inquisitive glances), Naomi explains her presence: "She told me if I got in her car there would be food in it for me." You catch Velvet nodding, validating her story, then popping open her styrofoam box. You do the same and find a chicken salad. Grabbing a fork, you start eating.

Since you have yet to hear her speak and since she's pretty cute, you decide your goal for tonight is to get the redhead to talk to you. It can't be that hard, you think.
