"In short yes." Lucas replied. He glanced to Alice who nodded, "I love him Dad. I know you both wanted me to find a nice man to marry, and you both know I want babies. Lucas is giving me both."

Phillip sat, but it was obvious he was angry, "What I wanted Alice, was for you to find a boy your age from the church, let me check him him out first, and then, if I was satisfied, you two could date and later marry after a suitable engagement period, then settle down to raise up children. Sarah looked at her husband, "Phillip. It's not how we wanted her to find a guy, but quite frankly, this isn't the worst way this could've gone down. I know her pregnancy will cause some eyebrows to be raised, but if she was wed before she began to show, would it be so bad?"

Phillip frowned, his wife's response mollifying him somewhat. "You are right dear." He turned to face the couple, "You know this wasn't what we wanted for you, but your mother is right, as is your fiance. This could be worse, we'll make this work. I don't know how but we'll make it work."
