Verden has detected another ship nearby.

"What is it?" you ask as you walk thru the hatch way onto the flight deck. As you don't know who called you, you are addressing the entire bridge crew.

"I have detected another vessel in proximity to us." the soft spoken sensor officer answers.

"Come on Verden," you say rather annoyed now, "there have to be thousands of ships out there. We're bound to run across one every now and again."

"I beleive it is the Astral Princess." Verden replies. "Lorna Carns' ship."

You pale at the mention of the ship and its commander. When you became the owner and operator of the Swift Sure, your first job was carrying a shipment for Lorna Carns. Unfortunately you were attacked by pirates and opted to jettison the cargo module and run. Lorna wants compensation for the loss of the cargo, which totals over 100000 credits.

"Options?" you ask your crew.

"Fight." Gloria King, your weapons officer quickly replies.

"Run." Your mother answers. "We might be able to stay out of their weapon range until the jump engine recharges."

"I don't beleive the Astral Princess has detected us yet." Verden informs you. "We could go dark and hope they bypass us."

After a few moments silence you ask, "Any other suggestions?"

"We could try talking to her." Alex Connors suggests.

"So we can run, fight, hide or talk." you say. You consider your options.

"What are your orders?" Your mom asks.
