“Maybe I can send out… this? Moths aren’t scary, right? Go Venomoth…?” Janine speaks with trepidation as she sends out a real pokemon this time. Out of her pokeball emerges a Venomoth, fluttering in the center of the room. The sound of its name makes wheels start turning in your head.

Venomoth…

Venom…

Poison…

Poison is weak against Ground-type attacks! You’ve got this in the bag! With a smirk, you send out your trump card: Dugtrio. You know your victory is secured, but Janine just looks on quizzically.

“A Dugtrio? Are you sure?” the Gym Leader asks.

You demonstrate just how sure you are as you command Dugtrio, “Use Magnitude!” The ground shakes with tremendous ****, knocking you on your butt as your pokemon launches its attack. After gaining your bearings, you notice everyone staring at your crotch, your spread legs giving them a perfect view of your g-string. Some are snickering, some are pointing… Why does this skirt have to be so short!?

Once you stand up, you’re shocked to find Venomoth unaffected by the attack. “What!? How!?”

“Emilia… It’s in the air. Of course my Venomoth wasn’t hurt by you shaking the ground. Seriously, are you new at this or something?” THE POT IS CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK.

You growl in frustration. “I’m so over things being in the air! Dugtrio, Scratch!”

“Venomoth, fly out of reach and glide over it using Sleep Powder!”

Dugtrio does as you order, but it doesn’t have the range to hit Janine’s Venomoth. As the moth-pokemon dodges, blue spores drop on top of Dugtrio.

You’ll need to use something that reaches further. “Dugtrio, use Astonish!” This time, however, your command seems to fall on deaf ears. “Dugtrio? Astonish?” A few seconds later, a bubble rises above your pokemon’s head, informing you that Venomoth’s Sleep Powder has already taken effect. “Wake up Dugtrio!”

“Venomoth, use Gust!” A strong gust of wind wakes Dugtrio up, but too late to avoid taking the impact head on. Though obviously jarred, the Ground-type pokemon shakes off the attack and focuses on the fight once again.

“Now Dugtrio, use Astonish!” Janine seems caught off guard as your Dugtrio spins around and manages to land a blow on Venomoth flying several feet in the air. Unfortunately, Astonish isn’t its strongest attack, and your opponent quickly recovers.

“Venomoth, Poisonpowder!” The Venomoth stays out of counterattack range as it rains down another batch of dust.

“Dugtrio, dig underground!” The mole-pokemon retreats underground to avoid the attack, but some spores still manage to make it into the hole it leaves behind. Dugtrio emerges a few seconds later, now with a slightly purple hue. Already weakened from the earlier attack, it’s not looking good.

“Umm… Dugtrio, Sand Attack!” Dugtrio kicks up a cloud of sand, smaller than usual thanks to being poisoned.

“Finish it with Gust!” Venomoth uses another Gust, negating the sand entirely and KO’ing your Dugtrio in the process. Poor Dugtrio… Why can’t all pokemon be on the ground? Pokemon who fly, or float, are the worst!

“Looks like it’s my win, Emilia! And I get to ask anything I want of you. Now, as a trainer you may not be all that great-”

OUCH.

“-but I’m sure that you’re a splendid kunoichi. So I have a request!”
