VD - Negotiate with Jake

This is a huge testament to how cool Demi is and how she had her shit together long before she ever leveraged your horny nature into this marriage.

Cas and Pol deliver a delicious meal in an impeccably clean, respectable house. It’s not that you think this guy, Jake, is super critical or whatever… but there is nothing for him to be critical about. Your staff comes through. Cas and Pol are great at cooking and Lady D has made sure that your house is good to go. Demon World cares about status and you are doing fine on that front.

So that’s good. You like your wife. Maybe even love her. She’s very sweet and it seems like she’s very accomplished and well-respected in Demon World. Like… mostly.

Jake is pleasant as he chats with you over dinner, and he doesn’t act like jerk chefs from TV shows that you watched in the human world. He’s ready to compliment Cas and Pol and the meal that he’s been served. It looks like making Cas and Pol like you is worth your while.

“So,” Jake says, looking at you and Demi with his smoldering, insanely hot gaze, over the table. “You want to impress the mayor?”

Demi snorts. “Impress her? Whatever. She’s been trying to hang out with my wife, and we’re cool with it. We’d love to hang with her. We just want to make sure that we put the best foot forward, you know? Our housekeepers specialize in cleanliness and service, not food prep.”

You gaze at Demi adoringly. She’s so godlike with the way that she handles the things. The words that she chooses… everything. She is so cool.

She smiles at Jake, who smiles back, then glances at you.

“Of course,” he says. “You want to make sure that everything is right if the mayor comes by. That’s normal. Anyone would want to make sure that they made a good showing.” He’s so friendly and easy to talk to.

You watch him brush his glossy, black hair back from his perfect, blue face. Man. You never thought you would be so comfortable with people whose skin was just… all these different colors. But he’s blue, like the same blue as a can of Pepsi, but he’s also very easy to talk to. It’s hard to stay focused on business in front of him.

“I’m thinking about something like… let’s say an elegant sushi spread. With some fish from different dimensions. Some hardcore aphrodisiac bites in front of your guest. **** elegance. **** taste,” he says, “Presentation to blow your mind. Very fancy.”

“Great,” you say, feeling as though you mostly get what he’s saying. It sounds like he wants to make a meal that will seriously impress Morrigan. Unless you miss your guess, you feel as though he’s glad to have this opportunity. He likes the idea of making a meal for the mayor.

“OK,” you say. “Sounds good.”

That’s easy to say. This guy knows what he’s doing. You have clearly chosen the right guy for the job.
