Uses her steam gun with consequences!
With a deafening hiss, the steam gun came to life, the power surging through it as Maggie squeezed the trigger. The men around her recoiled as the jet of hot steam shot out, knocking them back like ragdolls. But the alley was too confined, the pressure too intense. The blast ricocheted off the walls, sending her flying with a **** she hadn't anticipated. Her body collided with the cobblestone street, her dress shredded by the very steam that had been her savior.
As the fog cleared, she found herself lying in the middle of the street, the tattered remnants of her dress fluttering around her. The corset lay in pieces, her small breasts exposed to the cool night air, the bloomers barely clinging to her hips. The constables, drawn by the commotion, were now approaching, their eyes wide with shock and something else... was that amusement? Mortification flooded her cheeks as she realized her predicament.
Panic surged through her, and she scrambled to her feet, the cobblestones cold and unforgiving against her bare skin. She had to get away before the whispers started, before the scandal spread like wildfire through the city. She stumbled down the street, her heart pounding in her chest. The steam had left her flesh pink and sensitive, and she could feel the eyes of the townsfolk on her exposed flesh.
Her cheeks burned with humiliation as she darted through the misty streets. The air was cool on her bare skin, a stark contrast to the heat of the steam that had so recently enveloped her. She was a spectacle, a scandal waiting to happen. But she couldn't let that stop her. Her father's legacy was at stake, and she had to keep fighting.
After an agonizing and humiliating sprint across the city, Maggie stumbled into her laboratory. Oh god, she'd been seen by so many people! She prayed nobody recognized her. She felt a temptation to hide, to call the stolen device a lost, but determination rose up in her. She would not be undone by this setback. She had faced worse, and she would face it again. The game was far from over, and she was not about to lose. Her father's legacy was in her hands, and she would fight to the last breath to protect it—even if it meant facing the very people who sought to strip her of it all.
