Unexpected Surprise ( Main Story )
Turning around and walking to the platform again, he stared at the Merchant group and the Captain of the City.
Each time Miraak's eyes glanced at them, they felt something screaming in their bodies.
Staring at him, everyone immediately knew it.
He was a monstrous being.
Child or not.
Young or not.
It didn't matter.
He was an unpredictable being.
Normally, the nobles would negotiate their pacts after the city's King finished his pact, but their King, Vuduin Aeroris, was silently staring at Miraak, so everyone was awkwardly waiting.
Suddenly, a Noble couldn't wait anymore.
Glancing at Vuduin Aeroris one last time, he said, "Oh, Uncrowned King, since the King isn't doing his pact... Could we do ours first then?"
Miraak stared at the noble's luxurious clothes and sighed.
His goal was already finished.
Full control of Rifton was already on his hands.
From legal to illegal.
From the Royal Family to the bandits' cells.
Since killing them wouldn't bring any type of benefit, Miraak slowly raised his right hand.
Using his perfect Magicka control, he created a small square table made of temperated ice.
It was a quite beautiful table, with exquisite decorations on its legs and mirror-like surface.
The table was perfect for democratic discussions.
Sitting bored at his chair, Miraak stared at the Noble as he sat at the opposite chair.
The situation was quite peculiar.
A seeming child was staring at a sweating nervously adult.
It was strange, to say the least.
As Asa and Iphislia positioned behind Miraak's chair, the Noble finally took out a document from his bag.
Giving it to Miraak, the Noble slightly trembled anxiously.
After all, the Uncrowned King wasn't just a title.
He had the power of every single criminal in Rifton.
The Uncrowned King's powers on Rifton was so powerful that he could destroy all the Major forces on it with a single command, excluding the Royal Family.
As long he stayed in Rifton, he needed to treat him as his King.
Opening the document and reading it, Miraak just sighed.
The document didn't have any problems.
On the surface, of course.
Because Miraak noticed it.
A type of enchantment on the document.
Focusing on the document, he slowly started to see the Real Document.
Scams such as 'The contractor' will be the 'Contractee's ****'.
And scams of the same type were listed on it.
Although he saw that the document was a trap, Miraak didn't kill the noble immediately.
Because he saw it, behind the noble's face.
The noble's true identity.
With spiderish four-eyes and spiderish mouth, it seemed to be smirking at Miraak, completely oblivious that he was exposed.
A Mimic Spider Daedra.
One of the many minions of the Daedric Prince of Obfuscation and Secrecy, Mephala.
He didn't know if it was the same that was participating in the Frozencaller Tournament, but it didn't matter.
He couldn't let this opportunity go to waste.
Looking at the Soul-bidding document, Miraak almost laughed out loud in irony.
A secret plan against a minion of the Daedric Prince of Secrecy.
'... Looks like Mephala is underestimating me...' Miraak thought clicking his tongue amused.
After all, how could a Daedric Prince take a mortal seriously?
But, it was better like that.
Miraak smirked as he focused on the document again.
Slowly, undetectable Magicka started to leave his fingers and entered the document.
Just like Magic, the words on the Real Document started to change.
From 'The contractor' will be the 'Contractee's ****', to 'The Contractee' will be the 'Contractor's ****'.
He exchanged the subject from the 'Contractor' to the 'Contractee'.
Such a small change made Miraak use little to none Magicka as he smirked at a completely different document.
As he signed the document, Miraak saw the four-eyes spiderish smirking even more as he stared at Miraak.
Giving it back, Miraak saw the Mimic Spider Daedra signing it.
Just like a fool.
As the Daedra finished signing, the Daedra widened his four-eyes as he felt something breaking inside him.
It was as if his soul was being torn apart.
To the City's Captain, Alaion, the other nobles, and the Merchants, it seemed as if the Noble was having a hard time breathing as he painted more and more hard.
The Mimic Spider knew what transcurred.
His connection with the Spiral Skein, Mephala's Oblivion Realm, broke.
He stared at nothing, like a fool.
The Daedra didn't understand.
How? What? When? Where?
He just couldn't comprehend what happened.
But, as he turned at Miraak again, he immediately understood.
He saw Miraak smiling to him as if he was seeing a clown at a circus.
With a sudden realization, he felt something rising inside him.
Loyalty.
Trust.
Just like what he felt for Mephala, he felt for Miraak now.
He wasn't just his Master, Miraak was his God!
Continuing smiling at him, he said, "... Go. Others need my attention now."
Nodding, the Mimic Daedra slowly stood up and left, as he impersonated the Noble.
"... Shall we continue?" Miraak said bored to everyone as he stared at the almost distant 'Noble' back.
'... Looks like some changes occurred to my plans... In a good way...' Miraak thought seriously.
