Two recordings left - and a familiar face returns

There were two recordings left, and Marie opened the first file. Her eyes widened in alarm as she took in the scene.

Jane was back in Lemar's office, sitting in front of the chief's desk. Lemar herself was seated at her workstation, apparently engaged in conversation with the scientist. The scene looked so shocking normal compared to the depravity she had witnessed earlier that it took Marie a few moments to realize that the security chief was naked from the waist down, and one her hands was idly toying between her splayed thighs. Though the security camera caught her actions, the desktop apparently shielded the lewd sight from Jane's gaze. Oh fuck...Maire's eyes caught the date - the day of the signal, a few hours before it went out.

Marie watched her sister closely, her heart hammering in her chest. Jane was gesticulating and speaking animatedly. She appeared agitated and ill at ease, looking over her shoulder more than once. When she paused and placed her hands on the desk surface, Lemar casually reached forward with her free hand and slid her fingers along Jane's wrist, an innocent-seeming support gesture that sent a stab of panic through Marie. The chief's other hand, still concealed from Jane's view, slid from her crotch and was reaching for a drawer of her desk. Jane, get out, get out, get out...

Jane looked down at the chief's hand for a moment, her expression hidden from the camera's view. Then, in a sudden blur of motion, she lunged forward, her free hand flashing out to the side, scrambling on the surface of the chief's desk for a brief moment, before she snatched it back. Jane reared back, twisting out of Lemar's grip and sprang to her feet, her chair toppling to the floor behind her. She turned and rushed toward the exit, stumbling, catching her balance - then she was gone, leaving Lemar behind. The recording cut out just as the chief was slowly rising to her feet.

Marie let out a shuddering sigh of relief, then quickly brought up the last video.
