Chapter 14 by cphi cphi

What's next?

Turning away...

As hot as the scene was...Beth had no interest in getting caught peeping. She used the head as quietly as possible before climbing back onto the rear deck, just in time to encounter Tim, who was wading chest deep just off the stern.

"Oh hey..."
"Hey! I was wondering where you went."
"Yeah, I...um...bathroom..." she knew she sounded like an idiot.
"What's the matter?" Tim asked, and she blushed.
"Um..." she stuck a thumb over her shoulder, "Lindsay and Jake..."
"Ah... I see. My brother and his girlfriend are enjoying a little sex on the beach as well, and I didn't really want to watch so..."
Beth looked over at the beach, and sure enough, she could just make out the pair... quite clearly fucking on a towel in the shade. Kendra was riding, topless, and she could just hear faint moans over the sound of the waves. Beth shook her head and slipped into the water next to Tim. "I guess everyone's pairing up..."
"Yeah, it's too bad you have a boyfriend..." Tim's eyes suddenly got as wide as dinner plates and he started shaking his head, "I'm so sorry, that was very inappropriate."

}Beth was shocked. Me? He likes me?

}Beth giggled. "It's okay! I'm not offended. That's very sweet of you."{endif

"I have a big mouth. It's my worst flaw..." he was red-faced now, either from ****, the sun, or sheer embarrassment. Aw....he's cute.
They talked for a while, trying to pass the time while the rest of their crew had sex. "So, why don't you have a girlfriend?"
"Well, I don't know..."
"Come on, you're cute, you've got money." She stopped, suddenly embarrassed, "NOT that that matters!"
"You don't have to pretend. Money's important, even if you're not a gold digger. Money means freedom. The more you have, the more your world opens up. Maybe the world shouldn't be that way, but it is. I don't apologize. Some people think I get an easy ride because I work for my Dad, but he's a hard ass, and I worked hard to gain his respect and the position I have. I didn't get a silver spoon, I got a kick in the ass every day."
"I believe you. I didn't mean to..."
"You didn't..." Tim sighed. "There's my mouth again. If you want to know the real reason I don't have a girlfriend, it's probably that I don't know when to shut up when it's good for me."
Beth put a hand on his arm. "Some girls can't handle the truth." What am I doing? Am I.... flirting with this guy?
Lighten up, you're just enjoying the conversation.
"What about you? Where's your fiancee? There was plenty of room, I would have been happy to meet him." Maybe Tim sensed danger, wanted to steer the conversation in a safe direction.
"Ugh...He works for a marketing and advertising firm, and he's trying to make partner before he's 30, so he works a lot and then has to do a lot of extra shit. He's schmoozing a potential client at a charity event tonight."
"Oh, I'm sorry. If he makes partner, though, you guys will be living very comfortably, I imagine."
"Yeah..." she tried not to sound wistful.
