Chapter 23
by jealco
Does she try to take it off, or turn him down?
Turn him down
Drawing upon experience, she pushed the panic back, shaking her head. "Don't worry about it. I'll just carry them back." Her voice was steadier than she had expected, and she pressed forward before Hagran had a chance to respond, saying, "I kind of need a new silver dagger. I lost mine in a fight with a pack of ghouls last night. It's a shame; it served me well."
Hagran stood there for a brief moment, still leering at her chest. Annoyed, she was about to repeat her request when he suddenly responded, "I've got just the thing back here. Give me a moment, and I'll go get it. You sure you don't want me to look at that shoe?" She shook her head again, and with one last look at her chest, he turned away from her, heading into the back of the smithy.
She waited just a moment, ensuring he wasn't going to turn back, before quickly thought-wishing her sandals into her hands. She held the left one in front of her face for a moment, spotting where the strap had popped free of the sole, and made a mental note that the thong modeled shoddy workmanship as well. She'd have to bear that in mind as she picked outfits in the future.
Her thoughts trailed off as Hagran came out of the back of the smithy. In his hands, he held a pair of long stilettos, tucked safely into a pair of sheathes, which he handed to her. "These ought to serve you well. Gives you a spare if you need it. That way you hopefully don't find yourself in a bind again. How'd you lose the last one to ghouls, anyway?"
She shrugged, decided to omit the parts about her being stripped and nearly ****, and said, "I got mobbed. They managed to drag me down, and pulled my belt and pack off before Moseph stumbled upon the fight. He kind of put an end to it." She grinned slightly as she relayed her somewhat-altered tale to him, while she fastened the daggers to her belt.
He looked at her, his gaze fixed upon her chest again, and harrumphed. "I put a lot of time and effort into that blade for you, Venus. Try not to lose these ones, hey?" She looked back at him and replied, "I'm not planning on it. What are these going to cost me?"
"For you, Venus, about 50 gold." She was a bit startled at the low cost, but wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. Grabbing her coin purse, she set it on the counter and pulled out the money, which Hagran scooped up, dropping it into a big iron lockbox bolted to the floor, before he stepped around the counter again.
"Time for me to close up, Venus." He led the way to the door, turning back to her just before he opened it, and looked at her chest again. "You've been hanging out of that blouse for a bit, there. Let me help you with that." Shocked, she looked down at her chest, flushing red all the way into her exposed cleavage as she realized that must have happened when she tripped!
Before she could say or do anything, Hagran cupped her exposed breast in one large hand, and pinched the front of her blouse with the other, tucking her breast away. Her nipple hardened against his warm, calloused hand, then tingled as he pulled it free of her blouse. Her head swam for a moment. She was at once incredibly embarrassed at her exposure, quite pissed at how he hadn't mentioned it, then had basically fondled her without her permission, and yet she was somehow strangely excited at all of it.
"Care for a drink? Taverns are open now, and I know a good one. On me." As he grabbed the doorknob, Venus tried to figure out if she should accept his offer, tell him off, or play this all off and head back to the Lodge.
Tell Hagran off? Go to the tavern with him? Or just get out of here?
