Try to push past Tariq

Jake charged at Tariq, hoping to catch him off balance. Tariq didn't move out of Jake's way. Instead, Jake barrelled straight into him. Hitting Tariq was like head butting a brick wall — he was immovable, and Jake's little attempt did nothing to change that.

"If you do not complete the sacrifice, there will be consequences", Tariq warned.

Jake was willing to take that chance. This whole situation was insane, and Jake just wanted to get out. He tried to push Tariq out of the way, but before he could, Tariq grabbed his wrists. Tariq's hold was like iron; Jake couldn't pull away. Tariq lifted him up, so that his feet no longer touched the ground.

"This is what happens to people who break the oath of a sacrifice", he hissed.

Then, he threw Jake at the opposite wall. Jake felt the air rush past him before the sickening crash.
