Traveling back to Earth/ setting off breakfast day 1

The council meeting was almost over. You and Whistle had finally got all the details agreed on about first contact, the destruction of Venus and Offical First Contact. The time had come to travel back to Earth and make contact, you got everything ready and were ready to set off by the next day. The Galactic Council used ships that could create wormholes in the empty parts of space to cut down on travel time. They could not do this though parts of space with objects in it as the gravity of those objects warped the fabric of space-time in ways that interfered with the wormholes. These areas were called "occupied space" and travelling through them the ships followed paths where they could pick up on gravity assists to move quickly these routes were the "interspace highways" discussed in a previous meeting. While travelling through wormholes the ship's occupants were in stasis and experienced no passage of time. Travelling through occupied space the occupants came out of stasis and time passed as normal relative to the overall progression of the universe. With the amount of occupied space between Earth and the Council, it would take 3 days to get to Earth and 3 days to get back. However, due to the nature of warping space-time, the trip would take 2 weeks relative to The Zoo and Earth.

The ship had separate compartments for individual species and it would take 10 ships to transport all the representatives of the council, and a select number of friends and family, to Earth. You would be travelling with Stacy, Jenny and Ja in your compartment. Whistle had her own compartment but you had no access to it or any of the other compartments.

Stasis felt like nothing. You closed your eyes then opened them, it was longer than a blink but not much different. Except now you were lightyears away from where you had been.

"That was weird." Stacy commented. as you got up out of the stasis bed.

"So we have a day until that happens again, What do you want to do?" Jenny asked.

"Well we are confined to this compartment, let's enjoy some breakfast and then I think I ow Jenny a date if the two of you don't mind." You looked towards Ja and Stacy.

"No problem, Dad. Mum said I can eat a little bit of non-alive food without growing so I really want to try breakfast." Ja replied.

"I have been taking up the lion's share of your affection since we got ****. Only fair I give you and Jenny some time together." Stacy replied.

"Oooo, a surprise date. I wonder what you have planned?" Jenny asked.

You took Jenny's hand and whispered "Whatever you wish." to her before leading her over to the table. You cooked a fried breakfast. All 3 women were impressed by your cooking skills. Ja paid close attention to your cooking, asking questions. You used this opportunity to teach your "teen" daughter how to cook. This was fun as you had taken food tech in school and enjoyed passing on knowledge. Stacy, being your best friend was well aware of your cooking skills, having been one of the taste testers for projects. Jenny watched in amazement and listened to you teach.

When the breakfast was ready you served each of the girls a plate before sitting down with your own. Before you could start eating there was a loud crash. Ja's whole head hit the plate going splat onto the table. Stacy's water was knocked over and she had to get up to avoid it spilling on her. Ja's head lifted back up and reformed into the teenage girl's face she had chosen for her new look. The food and plate sank in a bubble down to her chest. The food left the bubble to float directly in her slime as the air travelled up to her mouth. "UUURRRRPPP" She burped. "Mmmmm tastes great." she remarked as she reached inside her self and pulled out the plate.

"Ja." You scolded. "That was very rude and look at what you did to Stacy's drink."

"I'm sorry Dad" She apologised her face began to droop and sag as if melted. "It looked so good and I have never eaten non-alive food before." She explained.

"That's alright, I forgive you. Next time eat slower, don't hit the table and if you take in gas don't burp it out." You instructed her as her face moulded back into shape and you watched the food start to dissolve inside her. Stacy had mopped up the spilt drink and with the issue sorted you all tucked into your breakfast. Ja watched you eat, learning how humans enjoyed food.
