Traci

Traci works with you until about 10:30 in the morning when Melissa comes in to the kitchen. She says in a tired voice that she thinks Cindy is untrainable and it's Traci's turn to try to make her friend useful. She would have gotten rid of Cindy already if they weren't so short of help. Melissa also wonders how you did so well with so little help from her daughter. You tell her Traci is doing fine, she just needs a little more practice working in the kitchen alone and when it is busy. You ask if she will be in the kitchen now and can you take 10 as it's kind of slow and the lunch crowd hasn't started yet. She gives you an exasperated look but nods her head. You tell her she can have a longer break after you come back.

You and Traci talk to Cindy and ask her how it's going. She says okay but you both know she's lying. You tell the girls that Melissa is very tired as the diner has been short-handed and she is extremely stressed out but that you have dealt with these situations before and everything will be fine if they just stick it out a little longer. Tracy tells you that the owner has been away for a long vacation but will be back in a few days with his wife and 20 year old daughter. All three work in the diner and that will help.

Traci had been working at the diner for a little while and has some regulars that like her pretty face and cute ass. Apparently the breakfast crowd talked about her beautiful redhead friend as the diner is over crowded for lunch. You let Melissa have 40 minutes break after you came back from your pep talk with Traci and Cindy. You almost wish you hadn't given her so long as it got busy five minutes after she walked out the back door. She falls in line and is too busy to bitch or do anything other than help out during lunch. When it slows again at about 2:00 she tells you she is going on break. She comes back about 15 minutes later and says it's your turn and to take a half hour off. When you return she says thanks for putting up with her earlier and for being so strong during their crazy busy times.

She tells you she doesn't like Cindy and that Traci begged her to hire her to work at the diner but she sees that she was wrong and if she keeps working with Traci she is going to be a good enough waitress. She tells you what Traci told you about the owner coming back soon and that there will be more help then. You tell her you know about the owner being gone, she told you yesterday, but not that he, his wife. and their daughter can also help out in the diner. Melissa wants to stay in the back as she knows her earlier actions probably angered Traci some and she doesn't want any long-term problems with her daughter.

Part-timers start showing up at 4:30 for the dinner rush which only lasts until about 6:30 and Melissa says she will stay and close the diner as long as you three promise to return again in the morning. You all say sounds good and leave before 5:00. Cindy's mom had dropped a car off near the diner and then got a ride home from Cindy's dad. The girls take you to a teenage hangout but you are by far the most mature in the group and after about half an hour, Cindy, seeing this, offers to give you a ride to your home or wherever. You accept her offer, tell her thanks and tell her not to be out too late or keep Traci out too late as they have to work in the morning.

She jokingly says, "Yes Dad!!!"

"Oh!?! Daddy issues?", Is your tongue-in- cheek reply.

"No and it's a good thing because you're not old enough to be my daddy, you're not very old at all.", Cindy tells you.

You tell her you'd like to hang with her sometime, just the two of you but you are really tired and would just like the ride home. She says that sounds great and you guys can talk about it after work tomorrow. She says Traci has a way back home and now she wants to get to bed too, so she can do something with you after work tomorrow.

Cindy leans over and grabs your arm and gives you a kiss on the cheek as you are about to leave her car. You turn and return her kiss but this time you both meet at the lips. Cindy tells you pleasant dreams and you say, "Of course, you'll be in them."

Her smile at your cheesy line shows how tired you both are. She says now she knows where you live and since you're all opening tomorrow she can pick you up instead of getting up earlier for the bus. You both wave goodbye to each other as she drives away until she turns the corner out of sight.
