Tom thinks about the coin again...

After the kids had gone to bed and Miranda was sitting in the living room, Tom slowly got up from his spot in the kitchen and made his way quietly into the home office where he had stored the coin. He and Sarah had talked it over, deciding it would be best to keep it in a place that no one else would go into but that they both knew where it was at all times (though he made sure to conveniently wish that Sarah would forget where it was unless he uttered a specific word, their version of a "safe" word). Over the past few days, he had watched and noticed that Miranda, though they were very free and open about spaces and rooms, often did not go into his home office. He had even mentioned it to her once and all she did was smile and say "that's your space, love, not mine." He wondered about that for a moment but all Sarah did was shrug her shoulders and nod at distracting her.

After closing the door behind him, Tom walked to the desk and then opened the drawer, pulling out a false bottom and then took the coin into his palm and looked at it again closely. The man who had given him the coin stated simply that the coin would be used for his wife. Sarah, at the time, was his wife and, while it definitely worked on her, it wasn't quite as clear if it would work on anyone else directly. He had tested it on himself with no results. He had tried it on neighbors and friends, equally nonresponsive. Sarah, in her now young form, had even tried it and it didn't work for her as well.

It was a plain and simple question, really, one that he wasn't quite as sure if it would be able to impact more than one person. Sarah, when she was Amorina, was definitely not his wife but his daughter. He had tried, when it was Amorina's personality instead of Sarah's, to make changes or use the coin to influence and each time, the coin did not react. When it was Sarah's, though, the coin had no problems reacting to his wishes. Did the coin focus on his specific wife and if it was Amorina, that would mean the coin's effects would then shift to Miranda? How did that work?

Tom palmed the coin in his palm and slipped out of the office, pausing to check the living room and spotted Miranda still sitting down, reading her book and flashed a simple smile to him as she spotted him moving towards the stairway. Tom returned it and stepped up quietly until he reached the landing of the 2nd floor, pausing to look at the doors for the 3 daughters he now had, Amorina's being opened and the light from her bedside table lamp indicating she was up. He walked over to hers, making sure that the other two girls were asleep, before he knocked. "Hey, got a moment?"

"Yeah, dad?"

"Sarah, wake up."

She blinked once and then smiled, motioning for him to come into the room and close the door, followed moments later by her scooting over and giving him some room to sit down next to her. "Hey, what's on your mind?" After a few moments of Tom explaining about his issue on the coin, and if it was only limited to her when she was Sarah, his wife looked at the coin in his hand and then back at him. "You want to try and see if it impacts mom when I'm Amorina?"
