To the light.

After a moment's consideration you decide to try your luck with the light. Hoping the narrow path leads there, you set off trying to ignore the forest closing in around you. In the rain and the dark it's hard to keep on the path, but you keep focussed on the light, hoping that it will be your salvation.

To your joy and relief, it appears to be what you hoped, a lit window. From where you are you can't tell what kind of building it's in, but you press on, hoping that where there is light there is warmth and shelter. You're really feeling the cold now, shivering and clamping your jaw to keep your teeth from chattering.

In a few minutes you emerge into a small clearing. The window is set in the wall of a small cabin, and you can smell the aroma of wood smoke. Better yet, you can see a truck parked beside the cabin. With a little sob of relief you make your way to the door and knock on it.
