Chapter 8 by Northfield Northfield

She has little choice...

To the assembly hall

Lia cautiously made it to the assembly hall. The double doors were open, and she peered inside to find the vast space eerily empty. The chairs were all pushed to the sides, creating a clear path to the stage, which was also bare. The curtains fluttered slightly with the AC's breeze, the only movement in the otherwise still room. Her heart leaped with hope. This was the perfect place for a dramatic reveal.

Cautiously, she entered the hall, her bare feet whispering against the polished floorboards. The air was cool and smelled faintly of dust and old wood, a stark contrast to the sticky heat outside. She scanned the area, looking for any sign of her clothes. The stage beckoned her, the spotlights above casting a soft glow, almost like a spotlight on her nakedness.

With a deep breath and a silent prayer to the universe for a miracle, Lia climbed the wooden steps that led to the stage. The soft thud of her bare feet echoed through the hall, amplifying her vulnerability. Once on the stage, she searched behind the curtains, her heart racing. The velvet fabric brushed against her skin, sending shivers down her spine as she searched the shadows for any sign of her clothes.

The stage was vast and open, and she felt more exposed than ever before. Her eyes darted around, searching every nook and cranny. She hoped against hope that maybe, just maybe, they had decided to end the prank here. But as she reached the center, she spotted something peculiar. A single, folded piece of paper lay on the floor, catching the light.

The note was folded neatly, almost tauntingly placed in the center of the stage. Lia's heart skipped a beat as she reached for it, her trembling hand betraying her nerves. Unfolding it, she found a message scribbled in Taylor's unmistakable handwriting: "Good luck, Lia. You're almost there. Check the next clue under the biology 101 classroom's podium."

Her eyes narrowed in determination, despite the humiliation still stinging. She knew this was just another part of the dare, but she couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. This was like a real-life adventure game, and she was the player. With a renewed sense of purpose, she sprinted off the stage and back into the hallway, her bare feet slapping against the cool tiles.

Will she play along?
