To fix the array itself.

Once she proceeded through a few more passages, a massive room opened up to her, where the ship essentially routed to the array itself. Computers of all sorts filled the room, and their odd hum created a drone throughout. Extremely thick white webbing covered the floor and the ceiling all over, and Marie gasped when she saw the damage to the main connectors.

Creeping over to a main computer, Marie quickly uncovered the webbings that had been obscuring the monitor and tapped a few credentials in. She kept her eyes open as she keyed in her information, not wanting to be ambushed by some creature.

As she clicked through, she could see that the Array had recently been damaged, though it had been overloaded hours before as well. Marie assumed that someone human had damaged the array previously, hence the long-distance going down. Perhaps someone had sabotaged the ship from the beginning? Not wanting to really ponder the thought, Marie saw the obvious issue and knew what she needed to do.

The array connectors had been heavily damaged by the webbing and whatever disgruntled monster had been living in here. Thankfully, replacing the connectors would easy enough, as spares were always carried by every CEC ship.

Marie would just need to grab a few connectors and replace the damaged ones and that should be more then enough to re-enable communication between her and Samson. She was also hoping that an elevator was nearby since she still needed to get back to them physically. Taking a deep breath, and moving slowly through the room, Marie’s eyes darted from corner to corner.

Soon, she found the two connector stalls, and saw the internal workings. Both were heavily damaged, and they sparked and flashed due to their malfunction. The gooey wrappings around the connectors had apparently shorted the power, and Marie knew this would be a pain to replace.

Quickly, Marie grabbed a hold of the terminal and pulled hard. Her RIG would be strong enough to protect her from any electrical shock, though she still needed to be somewhat careful. After pulling as hard as she could, she finally was able to loosen it enough to disconnect it. Throwing the spent shells to the ground, and then looking for a nearby maintenance room, Marie finally locked eyes with a horrifying sight.

Attached to the wall nearest the maintenance closet was a small number of women, their bodies twitching, and their heads covered in webbing as well. They had been there for some time, and their uniforms designated them as maintenance works or crewmembers of this deck. The most noticeable thing was the bloated bellies they carried, squirming from obvious young. Whatever had been living here had impregnated them, and that thought was terrifying enough.
