To The Coffee Shop

Iris still had a few hours before class, and she had the urge to drink some coffee, so she got in her car and drove to her favorite coffee shop, Lynch's Lattes. Lattes were actually a very small part of the menu there, but the owner liked the alliteration.

After parking her car, Iris walked into the small store, and saw that apart from herself and the owner, Ramsay Lynch, the store was completely empty. Ramsay smiled when he saw her, and waved her over to the counter. Ramsay had a tan, and like always, had his long black hair tied back behind his head. He was strong enough to have visible muscles, even though he did not work out any; he gained them from all the heavy lifting he did around the shop.

"My best customer! How are you, Iris? Do you want the usual, or do you want to shock me into an early grave and buy a drink that's not black coffee?" Ramsay knew the names of all his frequent customers, and was well-known for joking around with them.

"I'll have the usual." Iris said, her eyes cast to the ground. She was still a bit embarrassed that she was suddenly feeling like she wanted a boyfriend, and wasn't sure if she wanted to make eye contact with the older man yet or not. Instead, she stood awkwardly, digging through her purse to get her money out.

Ramsay finished making her coffee for her, and handed it over the counter. Iris handed him the money, but he pushed her hand back, shaking his head. "Sorry, Iris, but I can see you're not yourself today. Coffee's on the house. Now, what's up that's got you down? You've finally seen a reptilian's true form, right?" Ramsay had a heavy belief that anyone in a major position of power was secret reptile-like alien, hellbent on making humans compliant servants. No one really believed him, but everyone enjoyed his theories. He leaned forward on the counter and handed her her coffee.

Iris shook her head sadly. "No, I'm not that lucky. It's just... it's like my brain is suddenly telling me I NEED a boyfriend. I've been feeling this way for three days now, and it's distracting me from my school work. I don't know what to do."

Ramsay thought intently, before walking around the counter and placing an arm around her shoulders. "You know what you need to do, right? You need to join me and the other guys at our meeting tomorrow! I just know some guys will be attending who would love the chance to date you, plus, you can help us decode hidden clues and watch old sci-fi movies."

Iris smiled nicely at him. "I'll think about it, I do like old movies. Thank you, Ramsay, you're always so helpful!"
