Chapter 2
Where Does Ciri Go First?
To Novigrad
Ciri arrives to the city, getting off her horse and tying it to a post. She crosses the bridge leading into the city, noticing the men staring at her. She smiles at them as she walks by.
Once past the walls, she looks around. The streets are busy, people hustling to and fro, vendors peddling their products to the air, guards walking and watching, stern looks on their faces. She takes in the clamor.
She walks down the street, going to nowhere in particular. She passes shops and taverns, seeing that the drunkards have started early. She takes a left and comes to a small alley. On her left is a building. She can't tell what's inside. She turns around, but stops when she sees a man standing in front of her. He's shirtless, and Ciri can see he's built, his muscles big and toned. He has a beard, and she can tell he's drunk. He's swaying side to side. She knows she can easily fight him and get past him, but she has done so much fighting. She is tired of it.
"Hello, beautiful. What brings you here?" the man asks, slurring his words.
Ciri smiles at him. "No particular reason, just seeing what this city has to offer."
The man grabs his crotch and says, "It's got this to offer to you."
