Time to sit and chat

He led them both towards the fountains, the exit was nearby and more of the **** facilities existed deeper into the place so, Zack hoped, nothing or no one would pass them by on this (hopefully) calm afternoon.

“So you wanted to know more about this place? Well this is a great place to start, if you just watch the people pass by here you'll get a good idea”

Amelia, like Zack it turned out, was a fan of people watching so was quite open to the idea.

“You see that guy over there?” He gestured to the man who was coming from their right. He was wearing a loose fitting t shirt and jeans and walked with a slight limp, the bag he was carrying had a distinct metallic jingling sound to it had they been close enough to hear

Amelia nodded.

“He's coming from the direction of the naughty step. There people can go if they feel like they've been bad and want to be punished. Given his limp I'd wager he was one of the ones wanting to be punished than the other way around. You see the red mark on his arm? And the red lettering that's peaking out from the top of his shirt? I'd wager he was on the receiving end today, and he had some rather interesting wording written on him he's had trouble cleaning off, or simply didn't care if he did. In a lot of places in his world its hard to find somewhere for him to indulge, but here he just has to make an appointment, or hope for a walk in”

“Oh wow” Amelia really didn't have another response for that.

“And that couple over there, do you see them entering the bakery over there? They might be indulging inside or they might be getting a takeaway for later, but much like the restaurant its a place to pick up things to get messy with – along with some of the more conventional cakes and baked goods you would actually eat”

Amelia was skeptical but sure enough a couple of minutes later they came out of the bakery laughing and smiling, now arm in arm as they wiped their faces clear of the cream or custard they now wore, before using the sinks conveniently placed outside to clean off a little more effectively
