His first instinct was to jump in a save her, but he held back. In order to save her, he would have to relieve the fact that he was a Jedi, which would bring the empire to Tatooine, which would put the young Luke in damager. And he knows if the Emperor ever found out that Padme was still alive, he would send feet after fleet to Tatooine until the planet had nothing alive on it, just to prevent her from trying to turn his new apprentice back to the light side. No, if that was truly Padme, the safest place in the Galaxy for her was with Jabba, so he just let the barge pass without doing anything.

Episode 4 passes with her only bring brought out 4 times. The only thing of importance is that she learns that something called the **** start was built, destroyed the planet Alderaan, and then itself was destroyed by the new Rebel Alliance.

Episode 5 passes with her brought out 5 times. She finds out that a person called Luck Skywalk, her clones offspring, is Named a General of the Rebel Alliance.
