Kiba walked around to the side and looked up at thew window, covered in dark wood shutters. He rapped on the window loudly. There was shuffle of noise inside, a pause, then the window was opening, revealing Hinata. Her eyes were wide but relaxed drastically when she realized it was only Kiba, grinning up at her like an idiot from outside the window. She slid the glass pane up next.

"What are you doing?" Even as she was saying this Kiba was leaping lithely up into the window, his taller frame overshadowing her as he came to full height. He lightly dusted off his shoulder, looking around casually.

"I was in the neighborhood," he said with a grin.

Compared to outside Hinata's room was slightly cool, but only just barely. He was familiar enough with the layout, years of being team mates meant a few impromptu late night meetings at everyone's house at some point or another. It had been a while since he'd been in, but little had changed. Hinata's taste reflected the minimalistic decor of the rest of the manor, walls pinned with framed dried flowers, desk covered with a few tightly rolled scrolls. The only new additions were an electric fan running on high and a small radio near Hinata's bed, the sound of which was nearly drowned out by the fan.

"I have a door, you know," Hinata said, crossing her arms across her chest.

"What's the point of being a ninja if you can't jump in through the window once and a while to visit a friend?" Kiba replied as he sat down on the floor directly in front of the fan. Hinata, nonplussed, left the room briefly to return with a glass of water for Kiba. He drank it down in three gulps, feeling Hinata's eyes on him as she sat across from him on the floor.

Hinata tucked a strand of hair behind her ear only to have it fall forward again, framing her face. "You really scared me you know. I've been alone for the last few days. Almost everyone's up in our summer house..."

Kiba watched her eyes and her trail of thought wander off. "Why didn't you go?" he said.

"Well... to be honest, with my sister and dad gone, I can finally get some work done," she said, motioning to the scrolls on her desk. They were all still firmly closed.

"Looks like you're getting a lot done," Kiba said, a grin of sarcasm on his face causing Hinata to let out a defeated laugh.

"Yeah... When it's this hot I can barely concentrate," she admitted, shifting her body slightly. Compared to Kiba, who was wearing as little as he could get away with, Hinata wore a skirt that reached well below her knees and a light summer jumper. She looked a bit overdressed.
