This time it is.

Druuna continued fondling and fingering herself in a blind fury as vast quantities of hormones and other chemicals sloshed through her body, a direct result of the strange berries she had eaten. Her wild state caused her to take no notice of a small wild fox that looked at the grunting, moaning human with interest for a moment, before going back to following the tracks of a wild hare. After spending a full two hours in her heated trance, Druuna’s body finally sweated out the majority of the foreign berries juices and she was able to regain her senses. After washing the layers of mud her skin had acquired from rolling around on the ground, Druuna made a mental note to never touch orange berries again, and got back to walking.

Druuna walked for hours through the dense forest brush, until she came to a spot where the forest began to thin out and she could make out a ribbon of black stone winding a path through the land. She recognized this pathway as a road, though the forest had already begun to re-colonize the stone pathway. Figuring the smooth road would be easier to walk on than the uneven forest floor, Druuna continued on, using the road to go faster than having to move around fallen trees and thick mud.

The pathway radiated heat in the hot afternoon sun, causing the horizon to waver like a mirage. Druuna made good headway, and by the time night fell she could clearly see a small settlement of some kind in the distance. It appeared to have once been a gas station and convenience store at one point, but whoever lived there now had removed the gas pumps and planted crops around the building. The windows had all been boarded up, with small slots left in the barricades so guns could be fired out from the inside. Druuna crept in the brush to hide herself, not sure if she should get closer or not.
