Chapter 8 by hewhoismany hewhoismany

How do people remember his wife?

They remember her as young, but not a bimbo.

Just as they’d finished talking about a recent NFL game, Bruce’s eyes drifted off to look at Sarah in the pool. Tom looked over too, and saw she was playing with both of Bruce’s kids and his wife in the pool, as excited as a playfui dog, either unaware or unconcerned about the stares she was getting as she giggled with glee. “Is Sarah okay?” Bruce asked Tom. “She might be ten years younger than you, but she’s always had a good head on her shoulders. Right now, she’s acting like a dumb co-ed.”

This was interesting news to Tom. So, his friends remembered her as being young, but the mental change hadn’t had a similar reality altering effect. Was it because of the time he’d put on it? Wanting to test that more later, Tom focused more on the present situation. “She’s been kind of stressed out lately,” he lied to his friend, “So she got prescribed something that’s made her really relaxed.”

Bruce accepted the answer without a problem, and they went back to talking about sports. After a while, though, Tom had to head inside to use the bathroom. He was in there a while, and when he came out, he found Sarah was being very physically affectionate with another man in the pool, thought whether she was doing so purposefully or obliviously Tom had no clue.

Who is the lucky guy?
