They like the new scent

"Huh?" You reply, glancing over at your younger sister as she leans towards you slightly, sniffing in your general direction. "Do you like it?"

"It's not bad actually,? Joan answers, taking another deep whiff of the scent. "It reminds me of something... I just don't know what."

"Here, let me smell," Janis says, leaning in from the other side to sniff at your neck. "Mmm, I like it. What is it, John?"

"Secret," You answer after a few seconds hurried thought as you glance over at Janis. You're not sure but it seems that she's regarding you differently, a sort of judging look in her eye as she takes another sniff of the scent. "I don't think it's a store brand. I bought it off a vendor downtown." You lie easily as you notice that Joan is looking at you a bit strangely as well.

"It definitely smells better than most of the colognes out there today," Your mom chimes in as she gets up from the table, passing close behind you as she carries her plate to the sink. You feel her body brush lightly against your back as she moves behind you, "It reminds me of something too. Something I haven't smelled in a long time." She tells you, her eyes seeming slightly wistful as if she's remembering something as she looks at you.

"I'm glad you all like it," You say with a small shrug, the gazes of the three women making you slightly uncomfortable for some reason. "I'll have to buy another bottle if I see the same vendor again."

"So what are you going to do today, John??"Janis asks as she finishes her breakfast, her eyes still on you.

"I'm not really sure," You shrug, "haven't really thought about it yet. Maybe go job hunting."

"Well, I don't have class until this afternoon," Janis informs you. "I was going to go down to the gym and work out. Want to join me?"

"I was hoping you could drive me to school, John," Joan suddenly interjects from your other side. "I want to talk to you."

"Well, if you're not doing anything else today," Your mom adds from behind you, "there's a couple of things I'd like your help with around the house."
