Madeline's hellgrün-green eyes fixed on her father for a moment, before she bust out laughing at him. He could have been mad, but was anxious to know about this movie and hoping her reaction meant he had nothing to worry about.

"Sorry daddy, but you don't know Leroy," she grinned, enjoying the apparent joke better than her father was. "Oh, he wishes, believe me! He would love to get me naked!" She just shakes her head, seemingly affectionate about what sounds to Peter like a creepy pervert.

"So you're sure it's not just a trick to get you into something interracial?" Peter persisted, having never imagined having this conversation with his sweet little princess. "Blacks-on-blondes porno is very popular online, uh, I've heard..."

"It's a documentary, daddy," Madeline clarified, a slight edge to her voice at being **** to justify herself. "About young love in today's America. Where black men are free to get white girls without being, like, killed or discriminated against or whatever. Sounds like a message you could stand to learn! Seriously, maybe Biggie is actually onto something here..."

"Biggie?"

"He's the director and scriptwriter," Madeline explained impatiently. "He said people needed to see black men and white girls together to see how little has changed in this country, and provoke us to always go farther. And now I see he's right!"

Peter missed that piece of bait as he focused on one strange word. "Scriptwriter? I thought you said it was a documentary."

"Well, he needed white girls, pretty little blonde ones were his preference," Madeline said. "I mean, Lexi and I don't really have black boyfriends, but we're pretending to be into them. Then, white girls can watch us and gain the inspiration to go black themselves."

"What kind of message is that, Maddie?" Peter snaps. "Why would any white girls go black?"

"Because racists like you and Mr Carlson say we shouldn't," Maddie answers coldly, folding her arms across her chest and looking out the passenger side window to demonstrate that the conversation was over.
