Chapter 11 by poison ink poison ink

What happens next?

There's not enough beds to go around.

"I.. I have the deluxe suite here, on the tenth floor, but I'm not seeing a double room," the clerk said as he looked up from the screen with an apologetic expression. "There is a single room here for Hart. Maybe that's the one you meant?"

"Oh no," Candy said, shaking her head. "The double is for my son and his three friends. They're here for the convention. Well, I am, too, but you could probably tell that from my shirt, right? Anyways, there's four of them and one bed isn't going to be near enough for them. Are you sure it isn't a double?"

As the blond rambled on, AJ came up to the desk to catch the tail-end it. He glanced between his mom and the clerk with a raised brow before asking, "Is there a problem, Mom?

The clerk turned his screen toward them and pointed to their names. "I do have two rooms for Hart, but the double isn't a double. It's a single, I'm afraid."

"What? We booked these rooms months ago! I made sure that I booked a double!" Candy's son ran his hands through his hair as he tried to keep his calm as he felt like his weekend was doomed to be a disaster. "Can't you put us in a double instead?"

The clerk made a slow inhale through his clenched teeth. "Ah.. Well, it is a convention weekend and we are booked to capacity, I'm afraid."

AJ's hands slowly clenched into fists as he kept his voice calm. "I know it's a convention weekend. That's why I booked my room months ago." He glanced back to his trio of friends who were standing with their bags and oblivious to the booking error. Looking back to the clerk, he asked, "All right. We can't get another a bigger room. You at least have cots we could use, right?"

The clerk made another slow inhale through his clenched teeth. "Ah.. Well, with the large number of guests, we are.. short on cots as well, I'm afraid." The answer elicited an annoyed growl from AJ.

Candy watched the back and forth in dismay, frowning as she could tell that AJ was getting upset. She touched her son's shoulder and made a suggestion. "Hey, AJ. I have a big room to myself. One of you boys could sleep on the couch, I'm sure. And it's a queen-size bed, so that's plenty of room for two people. Plus two sharing your room and we can all fit. Okay, Sweety?"

"And of course, you'd only be charged for the single, not a double," the clerk interjected. "Would that be acceptable, Sir?"

AJ most definitely did not want to share a room with his mother, but knew that his options were limited. Still slowly clenching and unclenching his fist, he said, "I suppose, since the only other choice is that two of us sleep in Mike's car, we'll go with Mom's suggestion."

"Excellent!" The clerk took their information and handed AJ and Candy their respective keys before moving on to the next customers in line.

Returning to AJ's friends, Candy explained the situation while AJ brooded about the botched reservations. "So, anyways, to make a long story short," Candy finished, "Two of you boys get the single room, but the other two are going to have to stay with me in my room. Okay?"

Jack, Ty and Mike each looked at each other, then to Candy and then to AJ as they tried to read the situation. All three friends knew how AJ felt about them being around his gorgeous mom too much, but this was an unavoidable situation. Any of his friends were more than happy to spend a night with Candy, but none wanted to seem overly eager about it.

"I guess, if that's what we have to do," Jack said, trying to stifle a grin, "I guess I could stay with Candy."

"Yeah, I don't mind letting you guys have the single room. If you want it," Ty said as he looked back and forth between Mike and AJ.

Mike looked around the group, wondering if he might end up sharing a room with the busty blond MILF. "Well, Whatever works for everybody else is fine with me."

The last thing AJ wanted was to spend the whole weekend with his mother, but having his friends sleeping in the same room with her was a close second. It felt like he was living in one of those logic riddles with no good solution, either sharing a room (or even a bed) with his mother or giving the spot to one of his horn-dog friends. He saw that the rest of the group was looking at him for his decision and he pulled his phone out of his pocket.

"All right. The only fair way to do this is random pick," he said as he opened an app and began tapping buttons on the screen, "So we'll let my phone pick." He typed in his name and each of his friend's names and then held out the phone for everyone to see as he hit the random selection button.

Who's sharing Candy's room?
