The woman

Figuring that the woman would be less interested in using or selling her, Druuna walked towards the table where she was seated, dodging a few pawning hands on the way there.

Finally, she reached the table. The woman was looking at her with a rather suspicious look.

?Uh? hello.? Druuna said, not knowing really how to start.

?What do you want?? The woman retorted bluntly.

?Look, you move around a lot, right??

?Yeah. And so??

?Well, I?m just wondering if you always travel on your own??

?You want to go with me?? The woman asked, looking amused by the idea.

?Yeah, I?m sort of looking for things from the old times, to find out what they are.?

?Have a seat, kid.? The woman said, and shoot a stair to Druuna with her right feet.

Up close, Druuna could see that the woman had pale blue eyes and a set of lush red lips.

?So, you want to travel around with me then? Got any idea about what I do??

?Uh? no.? Druuna answered honestly.

?You should try to figure those sorts of things out first in the future. Anyway, you?re in luck:

I?m a scavenger for old things, and if you help me out I?ll let you tag along for a while.?

?Great!? Druuna was happy over how good things were turning out.

?But no bitching! Understood??

?Sure. I won?t complain about anything.?

?Good, we leave as soon as I finish my drink.?

As the woman said, as soon as she had emptied the cup, she rose up, slung a large rug-sack over her right shoulder and started to walk out the bar. Druuna followed after her, and noticed that no one was trying to grope her new acquaintance, most of the bar-flies making damn sure not to be in her way.

Outside, the woman looked at Druuna and asked: ?By the way kid, what?s your name??

?Druuna.?

?Nice to meet you, I?m Natalie, but most people call me Nat.?

?Okay Nat, so where are we headed?? Druuna asked, eager to be on her way.
