Chapter 41 by Orlog4 Orlog4

Talk

The witches past

You follow Acaria to a bench nearby. There are a few of these comfy benches around. A businessman donated them to the college after he graduated there years ago. When you sit down you try to keep both Olivia and Acaria in your view.

“Don‘t worry, young man,” Acaria says as she recognizes your suspicious face, “I’m not your enemy and this girl is not going anywhere. The cage of light is a tricky spell. Well, how are you? You took a few hits during our small argument with Gordon.”

“I got worse beatings from Bandon and his henchmen,” you answer, “but thanks for asking. They didn’t manage to bite me.”

“Good,” Acaria says pleased, “you impressed me. If I had no respect for other people's relationships I would try to seduce you. But I have no interest in an argument with Jenny. Not to mention, that I’m a little old for you.”

“Good that you mention it,” you mumble, “you look like a student but you call me a young man and this 40-year-old creepy woman a young lady. May I ask how old you are?”

“Almost 154 years,” Acaria answers and you look at her unbelieving, “I have a birthday in about two months. Want to come?”

“I … I … I’m not sure if I have time,” you stumble, “154 years? That's impossible.”

“I know I look good for my age,” Acaria jokes, “healthy food, lots of sports, and regular health checkups with a doctor can ensure a very long living. Good thing I don’t need all this since I have my magic.”

“Well, can you tell me what happened?” you ask to change the subject, “who were these vampires? Who is the great mother? And who are you?”

“My name is Acaria,” Acaria answers and smiles calm, “I’m a witch. And I’m the mother of Eric. He is the leader of the pack your girlfriend is part of. Many years ago, I had a family. My husband and my son were both normal humans, but they supported me in protecting the people against the threats of the magic world. Sadly I made many enemies. One of them, a werewolf who hated normal humans, wanted **** because I stopped his small pack from killing an innocent human. He attacked my home and I killed him but he infected my son. This was forty years ago. Since then I watch over his pack and protect all puppies and their family.”

“I’m sorry,” you say a little sad “I shouldn’t have asked.”

“It’s fine, It was a long time ago,” Acaria answers and shrugs her shoulders, “my husband never left me or our son because of our connections to the magic world. When he died six years ago, he said to us that he regrets nothing. People like him are rare. When I heard you kept your relationship with Jenny, I was indeed surprised. Tell me, what do you like about her? Is it her kind attitude, her rebel heart or is it rather her body. I don’t blame you if it’s the last one. She has a tasty body. Her boobs are even better than mine.”

“Maybe it’s all of them,” you answer and risk a peek to Acaria‘s breasts.

“I don’t mind if you stare, but for touching you have to pay,” Acaria replies smiling, “But seriously, stop! You have a girlfriend. Ogle her tits!”

“I’m sorry,” you apologize and look away, “and who is Gordon? And his great mother? You seem to know them.”

“While there are a lot of vampires who don’t want to hurt innocent people, the majority see humans as a minor species or simply a source of blood,” Acaria explains, “did Jenny tell you about the neo inquisition? They are mostly fanatics who want to kill all magical creatures. To our luck, they often fight vampire families. In this case, not a blood-related family, but a bunch of allied vampires and their servants, if they have some. The great mother is the leader of an old and powerful family. She is even older than me and her family has strict and some stupid rules. Only servants who prove their loyalty are allowed to become vampires. To them, all humans are nothing but slaves or sources of blood. And werewolves are even worse. They are stronger and so they are a threat to her power. She calls them monsters and beasts who must be vanquished from the world. I've fought her family for decades and many of her daughters have ended up as a pile of ashes. That’s why she hates me!”

“Impressive,” you comment honestly, “and how big is her family? Are they a threat for me or Jenny?”

“Around twenty, I guess,” Acaria answers, “and all of hem are a woman. The male ones are often sent to other families to strengthen their bonds. The female ones become her daughters. The great mother enjoys the power she has over her henchmen and slaves. But since I took up the fight with her, her family is … little more than half as big as before. If they cause you trouble, try to keep them at a distance until I find you. I watch over all members of my son’s pack. But I admit, it’s not good that the vampires found you so fast. You have to be careful.”

“I will,” you answer and stand up, “that’s all a little much, but I guess since I understand my girlfriend's nature, I can work with this much better.”

“There is a pack meeting coming soon,” Acaria says before standing up too, “I hope the little wolf takes you with her. I would like to meet you again. But now we have to decide what to do with our captive.”

Talk to Olivia or go home?
