The winner is Amy

"The winner," Tanya said as she ripped open an envelope and took out a sheet of paper Matt was pretty sure she'd filled out herself, is Melody Valentine. No big surprise that Archie got tired of Veronica and Betty fighting over him and went for the other blonde. Congratulations, Melody."

Amy stood there with her mouth open.

She looked cute as fuck, especially considering that her mask covered her scars and she had a smoking body, but even more so because she clearly hadn't thought she had a chance. Frankly, Matt hadn't thought so either. Natasha was more beautiful, Karen was more 'girl next door,' and Cindi was more ethnically exotic.

All of a sudden, Amy burst into tears.

Oh, shit. This was supposed to be a happy moment.

He walked over to her and put his arms around her, holding her tight. "It's okay, uh, Melody. We don't have to do anything you don't want to."

"Don't want to." She made a fist and pounded his chest. "I've wanted to fuck you since the first time I saw you. But... there's got to be a mistake. There's no way I could have won. Tanya is just being mean. She's going to announce the real winner any second. Like the time it happened at the Academies... you know, woops, wrong envelope."

"I don't think that's going to happen," Matt said. He looked at Tanya who shook her head.

"Samantha says it's the real deal."

"Oh...." She looked over at Tanya. "Really."

"Really and truly."

"It's the mask," Amy said. "People couldn't see my face."

"It's because you have a hot body and because all the other girls were too confident, too sure that being beautiful or exotic or wholesome was going to give it to them for sure. Remember, most of our viewers are like us... worried about whether people will like them, concerned that others are better looking or more confident or whatever. I think, when they saw you, they identified. They wanted someone who was hot but who didn't take herself for granted to be the winner."

"Oh," she said again. "Well, if I'm the winner, why am I still a virgin?"

It was a good question. One he hoped he could soon answer with 'you're not'.

So he kissed her.
