Chapter 19

What the frick was that about, indeed
The twins have their answer.
As soon as Weiss leaves the room, you have the twins at the door, knowing smiles on their lips. You let out a sigh with a smile of your own. It’s been a week since that night, and the girls are definitely more comfortable in your company by now. That’s not necessarily a good thing for your blood pressure, though.
“You could’ve joined, you know?” You break the silence, wondering what exactly is going through their minds.
“Nah, figured we’d let the little bird have the spotlight this one time.” Her tone is nonchalant and maybe a bit mocking, but now that you know her better, you can tell she’s being honest about it. “We didn’t want to scare her away.”
“So you didn’t tease her on her way out?”
“This is this” She replies without her smile ever wavering. “And that is that. Is our duty and privilege as the older sisters. ...Because you’re going to invite her, right?”
You can barely hold back a smirk at her roundabout ways. Not that you were really worried about her calling off your proposal, her sister would’ve flayed her alive. Then again, after knowing the twins for a week you’re pretty sure you could put harsher conditions and she still would’ve accepted. For all she doesn’t throw herself at her passions like Miltia, Melanie wants this just as much.
“Not just yet, but yeah, that’s the idea.” You answer instead. The plan hasn’t changed enough for you to seriously consider breaking up team RWBY, after all. “But I’ve ignored you girls enough for a single evening.” Making an inviting gesture towards the table you’re sitting at, you create a coffee set as if teleporting it from somewhere else. “So, are you here to talk or...?”
“You have no idea how much I want to jump your bones right now, stud. But I think we should talk first.”
“We want in.” Miltia interrupts. “And I want a collar.”
Miltia’s eager request surprises you even if really shouldn’t, all things considered. Before saying anything though, you arch a questioning brow towards the sensible twin.
“Wah, let’s not get crazy here, alright?” Melanie hurries to decline, shaking her head with maybe a bit too much energy. “I think I’ll give that a bit more time, like a few thousand million years.”
“Fair enough, the collars won’t be ready for a while anyway” Damn, you were joking about that part and have nothing planned. You’ll have to design something appropriate from scratch, but the idea actually sounds enticing. Building a harem is one thing, having your girls voluntarily accept symbols of ownership? That’s hot.
“Can we get our mind out the gutter for five minutes and at least try to figure out the logistics of this?” Melanie interrupts your train of thought “If we’re in this, I want to know what exactly this is. You mentioned you want people in Beacon. What are you planning?”
“What, the hot, steamy sex isn’t enough?”
“It is for me.”
“Thanks Miltia, but I guess your sister is right. You should know a bit more about this whole business.” You have thought about keeping them informed in a need-to-know basis about what’s to come, but letting them believe they’ll be able to finish the three-years course in Beacon would be a jerk move from your part. That said, you’re not about to go full disclosure with them just yet either.
“I have intel about various agendas that will involve Beacon this next year. They are… not nice.” “Being honest, chances are the place won’t survive the Amity festival. If you want to graduate in Beacon, your only chance will be to do so within the year.”
“How? Skipping grades?”
“Twice. If you’re interested, I can help you, but it’ll take a lot of work from your part, and your future teammates’ collaboration.” To be honest, that option only just occurred to you. It should be doable, but if the twins want it, they’ll have to work the part to prove it. “It might be easier to just enroll somewhere else to finish your education. I hear Atlas has a very good program too.”
They exchange another of those looks that seems to hold an entire conversation before turning back to you with a dangerous shine in their eyes.
“Graduating from Beacon is our dream.” Melanie growls. “If that’s our only chance, we’ll make it, even if we have to drag our teammates kicking and screaming along the way.”
“I’m not sure that’s how teamwork works...” You joke. “But at least you are motivated.”
“Now, I would like to know what exactly do you hope to gain from all this, and who exactly are we going to go against.” Funnily enough, the way she phrased it allows for a really bad joke. Fortunately, you’re mature enough to resist.
“Actually, is more of who I hope to gain and what exactly we’re going against” Nevermind, you apparently wouldn’t recognise maturity if it slapped you in the face with a cod. “What I want with Beacon is the same I wanted with you girls and we’ll step on many toes to get it, creatures of the Grimm included. But that shouldn’t involve you in any overt way. You’re there to be students, plain and simple.”
“... Right. And the fact Beacon will be attacked in less than a year means its students will be safe.”
“You are going to become Hunters, gorgeous, safe isn’t in the job description. Look at the bright side, it’ll make for one hell of a graduation test.” Then, you frown, realizing you’re getting carried away and forgetting an important detail. “That’s all assuming we don’t put a stop to it earlier, of course. I’m not too sure yet what to do about it, it’ll depend on how things develop.”
“Sure, whatever. I’m starting to realize you’re not some random guy who just happens to be smoking hot and hella strong. Where did you come from, stud?”
“Officially? From one of the countless ruined villages outside the Kingdoms nobody remembers or cares about.”
“And for real?”
You let out a chuckle “Maybe one day I’ll tell you. But this one thing I’ll say. I’m a ghost in the system. Nobody will find any record of me anywhere, unless I put it there to be found first.” You’ve actually gone and made that a fact. Information about you cannot be found independently of whether it exists or not, unless you decide to make it public.
A soft chuckle escapes you. Screwing with the rules or reality like that will probably get old sooner or later but, for now, it’s fun as all hell.
Melanie huffs at your burst of humor, while Miltia’s only reaction is to unclasp her dress, letting it slip down her body to reveal the lacy bra underneath. Someone doesn’t seem to care too much about the conversation.
“Fine, be that way.” You have a hard time holding back another chuckle, Melanie is so focused on interrogating you she’s not noticing her sister’s rapid descend into rauchyness. “Still, if you insist you don’t need us to do anything special, it begs the question of what exactly do you need us for. After all we’ll be...” here she blushes fiercely. “Yours.”
“Oh, you misunderstand me.” You have a hard time keeping a straight face with Miltia’s bare feet sneaking up your leg, but you somehow manage. How does that girl’s feet keep slipping out of footwear like that anyway? “There is something I need of you. It just so happens to be exactly what you’ll be doing. Once you graduate, though, I expect you to come work directly under me.”
“And if we want to break the deal then?”
“I promised you’d be able to do that at any time, and I stand by it. But dear, my job is to make sure you don’t want to leave.” And if Miltia doesn’t stop what she’s doing soon, you think holding back a grunt, you’ll give them a good taste at how exactly you do your job.
“When I first mentioned the collars you said that you… had a better method in mind for all involved.”
“Uh…? Oh, yes.” It’s getting a little hard to focus on the conversation. “That’s the crux of the matter, isn’t it? While I can hope hot, steamy sex and tickets for Beacon would be enough to earn you girls, I can offer something more.” To be honest, you doubt it’ll be necessary with them, but it’s best to set a precedent in case it’s needed for someone else later on. “Ever heard of an Aura Bond?”
“Does right now count?.”
“Well, that’s understandable. It was a secret technique used by Vacuan Kings when accepting a Vassal Lord’s pledges.” You explain, casually rewriting history to make it true. It’s actually something you pulled out of your ass just for the occasion. “But the dynasty who practiced it fell into oblivion centuries ago.”
“Fascinating, but we didn’t ask for a history lesson, stud.”
“No, no, you didn’t.” Actually, your sister is asking for a very different lesson, dear. “Basically, it works the way fealty oaths should truly be like. You give me your loyalty and, in return, I will take care of you.” Miltia leans back on her couch, letting the straps of her bra fall down her shoulders and reaching higher with her feet. You have to bite your tongue to keep from moaning. “This means…”
Your ‘cut it!’ glare at Mitia is met with an unrepentant smirk. You have to physically remove her feet from your crotch. Not that you really want to, mind, but this is kind of important and she’s making it really hard to focus.
“It means you’ll be able to borrow part of my aura to strengthen yourselves as long as you remain loyal to me. How much would depend on our mutual trust and, were the bond to grow strong enough, a form of empathy might develop from it. In no case will it **** you to act against your will. Worst case scenario, if you try to act against me in bad faith it’ll break.”
“Kind of like our Semblance?”
“Something along those lines, yeah.” You distractedly massage the tiny feet in your hands, hoping to distract the girl for long enough to finish your explanation. “But nothing so… grandiose as sharing souls, they’ll just be close, and capable of interacting with each other. Bonded, really. The name says everything.”
There are still details Melanie would no doubt want to ask about but, unfortunately -Or maybe fortunately, depending on who you ask- that’s when Miltia’s flying bra lands on your face and Melanie finally notices what’s going on around her.
So much for distracting her with the massage.
