The tree

Jake touched the image of the tree. The eye and the writing vanished, and the tree grew to take over the whole space. Now, Jake could see that the ball was actually the Earth, the continents etched in minute detail.

Jake was so absorbed in looking at the detail of the tree, that he didn't notice that someone else had entered the room until the door slammed. He spun around to see the ugliest woman he had ever seen. Jake stared. She had greasy black hair, a warty face, and a greenish complexion. The woman marched up to Jake, and stood in front of him, arms akimbo.

"What were you thinking?" she shrieked.
