The second parasite

In Kashmir I was once a feared and respected ruler, bowing only to the Great Shah. My twin sister Allatu and I held court in the most opulent manner, devoting our lives to the pursuits of hedonism and the furthering of our own love and longevity. Together we practised the long lost arts of the mystics of Uruk, drinking the blood of ripe virgins to enhance our own vitality and mystical strengths.

But when we were attacked and Allatu was taken by the relgious zealots of the age, followers of both Krishna and Mohammed, I swore never to die and never to quit persecuting my enemies until Allatu was returned to me once more. I called on every Shaitan that ever existed to aid me in my quest and turn me into a vessel of such potency that none of my enemies could withstand me. I became a flame of vengeance, drinking in the essence of my victims as I searched and searched through the years for my dearest Allatu.

For centuries now, more than I care to count, I have scoured the world for signs of my beloved wife and sister, gaining constantly in strength but shunning the sun that rises each morning so that I moved ever Westwards, retreating from each fresh dawn until I met the Western ocean. Now I quench my thirst and hunger on the drunks and wastrels of an area known as North Wales, being unable and unwilling to voyage further across the seas beyond. Tonight though, as I move through the streets of the town of Porthmadog, my enhanced senses are flaring as one in a manner which is unknown to me in all my centuries of wandering. I feel as though I am being alerted to something, or summoned. Surely after all this time my quest is finally being answered. Can it be...? Is my beloved here? Suddenly I am ignoring the drunks that heretofore were my prey and I am tracking my one true love once more with my supernatural senses, heightened by years of my spiritual depravity.
