Chapter 10
by airwreck
Where did they go?
The presidential suite.
"Shall we?" Bruce asked, offering an arm to each of his female companions.
"She's coming with us?" Silver inquired, eyeing Selina suspiciously while she hooked her arm around Bruce's right elbow.
"Yes, I am," Selina replied, sticking her tongue out at Silver and tightly held on to Bruce's muscular left forearm. "He's my date for the night!"
"Yes, she's with me," Bruce said. He owed the Penguin a night at his casino because of Selina so he did not want her to run away to cause more mischief or get into greater debt.
"Fine," Silver agreed reluctantly and lead Bruce and Selina to the executive elevator to the presidential suite.
Even though there was lots of space in the private elevator, Bruce felt the two women intentionally press their breasts against his arm as they silently waited for the lift to go up to the top floor of the hotel.
"The caviar was good," Bruce blurted, trying to break the awkward silence with small talk. Normally he preferred silence as his alter ego but with frosty aura between two of the important women in his life -- a billionaire heiress he had known since childhood and the cat burglar he knows he cannot tame but nonetheless he still enjoyed the chase -- he felt he had to warm things up.
"It better be considering it was me who hired the caterer," Silver mused.
"It was tasty," Selina added. She was not a fine connoisseur of cuisine, preferring the local corner burger joint, but she wanted to at least appear somewhat knowledgeable and opinionated in front of Silver.
The ding indicating that they had finally reached the penthouse was a reprieve from the claustrophobic confines of the elevator. Silver lead them to the double doors of the presidential suite and swiped the lock with her keycard.
"Here we are," she said, gesturing at the two bedroom suite with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, study, and personal gym. "My home away from home."
"It's not Wayne Manor but it will do for the night," Bruce joked.
"It's bigger than my place," Selina muttered, unable to resist checking out the expensive decor.
"Shall we have something to drink to celebrate the successful fundraiser?" Silver suggested, walking over to the bar to take a bottle of wine.
"Sure," Bruce answered. Silver knew he did not drink because **** would dull his intellectual reflexes, incredible sharp wit, and observation techniquse. He wondered what she was up to.
