The next morning...

Leo opened his eyes again and found that it was now early the next morning. He stared into the fire for a moment, regretting his decision to get all aggressive with Rebecca. Truthfully, he did notice Rebecca on the day they met. And even back then, he found her rather cute. But he was way to shy to say anything.

Unfortunately, by the time he built up the courage to even introduce himself to her, Rebecca had already put her plan into motion. He wondered at her motives all these years as he stared at the embers of the fire.

Hearing Rebecca stir, he looked to see the young woman sit up with a yawn. She took one look at Leo before blushing and looking away again, only sitting next to him due to the handcuffs attached to their wrists. The two naked twenty-five-year-olds sat in an awkward silence for a few seconds.

"Why didn't you just introduce yourself to me?" Leo asked gently, finally breaking the silence. "Why did you think that bullying me would be the best way to get me to notice you?"

"What does it matter?" Rebecca asked somberly, "I was a scared little idiot and now," she sniffled slightly as she wiped the tears from her eyes, "you hate my guts."

Leo leaned forward and gently put his hand on top of hers. "What I said last night..." Leo began, "I only said it because I was still upset about everything. While it is true that I moved away to get away from you tormenting me, I... I don't hate you."

"Y-you don't...?" Rebecca whispered in shock, turning her head slowly towards Leo with her watery eyes widened in surprise.

"It's just that..." Leo began as he thought carefully about his words, "I was really angry with you about what happened with that woman, neither of us knowing that she was going to pull out a gun, make us strip naked, steal our clothes, and then handcuff our wrists to one another. And when you told me that the reason that you tormented me most of our life was because you loved me and wanted me to notice you," he sighed, "I... I lost it. I'm, admittedly, still not sure if you loving me is true or not, but please know that I don't -"

Rebecca immediately cut him off by pressing her lips against his, kissing him passionately. Leo felt a volt of electricity tingle down his spine, and from Rebecca's shivering, he could tell that she felt it too as he actually found himself kissing her back. As they both pulled away from each other, panting slightly, Rebecca gave a shy smile and blushed as she asked, "Would I have given my first kiss to someone I didn't love?"
