The next day, while you're at work

When you wake up the next day, you sigh with relief. You can hear Ben downstairs, talking with Andy and the little ones while the smells of eggs and bacon float up to your room. With Ben here, you can safely leave your brother and nephews with him and go to work without worrying about your brother going into labor. You get up, get dressed, and go downstairs to enjoy breakfast with your family.

When Ben sees you, he gives you a worried look. "You going to be okay today kiddo?" he asked, "Andy told me what happened last night. Do you need me to call up and make sure they keep an eye on you?"

You smile encouragingly at him and shake your head. "I'll be okay." you say, "I'm more than capable of fighting them off... But, if you could pick up some pepper spray for me so I have something on me when I go there and back, that would be great."

Ben nods and puts it on the list which he keeps on the fridge. "Come get some breakfast." he says, "It's best you get some food in you for the baby."

After taking your seat, you gladly take the plate he hands you. Issac and Mason are nearly done with their food and Andy, who has already finished his breakfast, is getting their bags ready for school. You're surprised to see him up and walking as much as he is doing, you know how painful it has been lately with his swelling ankles.

When you offer to do it for him, Andy refuses and continues on with his task. You chalk it up to a feeling of being useful, since he hasn't been able to do much for his son or his nephew lately. You return and finish your food, thank Ben, and get ready for work before setting off just as they are leaving to drop the boys off at school.

Work is, for the most part, boring. The only issue you have is when two homeless men come in and start a brawl in the middle of your shift, nearly hit you and smashing a plate over your manager's head. You clean up the mess after the police arrive to escort them to the jail. Then everything goes back to normal.

As your shift is coming to a close, your manager receives a call from Ben. He informs you that you need to go home and take care of the boys for the night, since Andy and Ben are in the hospital. When you ask what happened, he smiles and tells you that you're about to be an uncle again.
