The library.

They traveled through the empty streets for about twenty minutes until they came to a large gothic looking library. David shuddered, “This place is kinda creepy. Why did you want to live here?”

She started up the long stone steps to the front door. “I was lonely. They have books and magazines and movies in here.” She walked a few more steps then paused and said, “I know it must sound strange to you, but reading the stories and stuff…it almost was like someone was talking to me, like I wasn’t alone.” A faint red glow came to her face and she started up the steps again. “Never mind, it’s stupid.”

David walked along side her and said, “No, it’s not stupid. I think I can understand.”

They opened the doors and David was surprised to see the interior was very modern and well lit, a striking contrast to the exterior. She led David to a small room. The floor was covered in books and magazines. There was a small television hooked up to a VCR. The walls had posters of seascapes and forests. She had even managed to get a small bed inside. She waved her hand. “It’s not as nice as the penthouse, but I feel so much more comfortable here.”

He looks around. "It does have a cozy feeling to it."

She seems relieved, "That's what I was going for...I, I wanted it to feel like people lived here." She sat down on the bed. "You must think I'm so weird..."

David sat down next to her, "No. I actually think that you are surprisingly normal when you take everything into consideration."

She smiled softly, "Surprisingly normal...thank you." She started to say something then shook her head.

"What is it?" asked David.

"It's nothing, never mind."

"Are you sure?"

She turned away from him and…
