The landlord gives her incentive to stay

As your friend ponders her options, the landlord wanders towards your table and places two fresh drinks in front of the pair of you.

“These ones are from me” he informs you before you can question where they came from, “for making my barman smile for a change” he grins as way of explanation. “So, you staying after hours?”

“Sure” Lucy suddenly speaks up, obviously having made her decision, “nothing better than a lock-in, hey Dani.”

You smile back at your friend, glad in one way she is going to stay around, but at the same time you wonder if maybe she may delay your plans of getting dirty with Andy.

“Good, a lock-in in isn’t a proper lock-in without a couple of sexy girls.” As he tells you this he gives you both a smile that seems to suggest he would be happy to get more than a drink or two after hours. “Right, enjoy your drinks, and I will chat to you later” and with that he turns away and wanders back to work.

You return to talking to some of the newly arrived crowd, sipping merrily at your latest drinks, knowing you have had more than enough tonight to make your walk home very unsteady, and you know that there could be plenty more drinks to come yet.

Finally it’s closing time, and slowly the people around you depart, making their way home or on to other places that open later. Around you Andy and the landlord busy themselves clearing up empty glasses, wiping down tables, and regularly looking in your direction, Andy smiling at you, the landlord seeming to take in both of you.

“So girls” he calls over as he starts to put some chairs up on top of a table, “aren’t you going to give me something to get me through the boredom of tidying up?” His smiling face shows he is just teasing you, but at the same time, there is something about his words that suggest maybe he would be more than happy for you to actually follow through his request.
