The crew make plans

“I think we can say you’ve got the job,” said Mae. “Welcome on board. If you want to stay,” she said.

“That was fun,” said Paul. “Being more vocal worked for me as well. I’d love to stay.”

“We’ve got some great footage of you and Jane,” said Anke. “It’s shot on phones and the lighting and sound quality are mixed, but it has great energy. We can ‘art house’ it a little and splice the different versions together.”

“We’ll put that up online and see how it plays with the viewing public,” said Mae.

“Really?” said Paul. “I thought this was just an audition.”

“We use everything we can,” said Mae. “It’s the only way to keep this profitable. And you did sign over any rights. Of course, if it does well there’ll be a payment for you and for Jane.”

“You had a real vibe between the two of you,” said Antoine. “It felt like there was more going on. That comes across and engages the audience. It’s worth bearing in mind for next time.” The last comment was directed in Mae’s direction.

“I agree,” said Mae. “Would you be up for that Jane?”

Jane nodded. “Sure,” she said. “I had a great time. I liked how we made it up as we went along, and it just seemed so natural.”

“That’s worth thinking about,” said Mae. “Maybe something less scripted than usual. If we create the set up we can just see what happens. What do people think?”

“Sounds good,” said Antoine and the others nodded. “Anyway,” he continued. “Time to wrap up for the day and you girls need to get editing.”

“What about you Fiona” Paul asked. “Are you part of this now?”

Fiona looked a little bashful. “I could be,” she said. “But I think we’ll have to see.”

“Ok,” said Mae. “That’s us for today. Jane will sort you out and we’ll be in touch.”

“I think Jane already sorted me out,” said Paul with a smile.

“You know what I mean! Get your clothes on we’ve work to do here before we finish.”

“Come on,” said Jane. She’d slipped most of her clothes back on and now shepherded Paul back out to reception. “Get your clothes on. As Mae says we’ll be in touch.” She kissed Paul on the cheek and left him to get dressed.
