Chapter 14

Who catches your eye?
The blonde looked like fun
Well hey, may as well just get started, you thought to yourself. "Excuse me; excuse me, miss?"
She turned around, with the mildly annoyed look of girls everywhere who get stopped by random dudes, and looked at you inquisitively.
Confident in your power now, you knew how to give yourself a win-win situation, so you just smiled, gesturing to a nearby bench. "Would you rather sit down over there and talk calmly with me until I say you can leave, or would you rather your lips grow so big you have a hard time speaking?"
The girl's brow scrunched up, looking confused and uncomfortable, but said, "Uh...sit down, I guess," and flounced over to the bench.
She sat down carefully, settling her dress around her, and her confusion faded away as she became calm. Smiling politely at you, she said, "Well, what did you want to talk about?"
You wandered over and stood in front of her for a second, giving her a franker examination than you'd normally feel free to do if she wasn't supernaturally calm about the whole thing. She was pretty enough, nothing traffic stopping. Nice blonde hair, shoulder length or so in a simple bob, framing a face that was maybe a little on the chubby side, though not unpleasantly so. Her tits weren't bad as a result, probably in the C or smallish D range if you had to guess. Then again...you supposed you didn't really have to guess, did you?
You glanced around and spotted a guy walking by with a backpack. "Hey, would you rather give me a notebook or drop your pants and leave them there?"
He blinked, startled. "Whoah, uh...the notebook?"
Rummaging through his bag, he grabbed a pad of paper and handed it to you with a frustrated expression. "Hey, I know that's yours now, but would you mind if I can borrow my notes later? I've got a chemistry exam this week."
It's your turn to blink. He knew he'd given you the notebook, and it didn't seem like he was willing or able to take it back, but he still knew he needed the notes. Weird. You shrugged and smiled back at him, flipping through the notebook and tearing out the pages he'd written on. "Oh, sure, I just needed something to write on. Oh, yeah, a pen. Um..."
You hesitated, thinking of an option to offer him so he'd give you a pen too, but he hurriedly grabbed one out of his pocket and handed it to you, gratefully taking the notes as you gave them back. "Hey, thanks, man, go ahead and take mine. You're a life saver."
You watched him turn and go, bemused. Apparently something in the magic or whatever had convinced him the notebook was yours by right or something, so you giving him those notes seemed super generous to him. Handy trick, you thought, storing that away for later as you walked back to the blonde.
She was still sitting there calmly, her gaze following Backpack Guy as he walked away. "That was weird, did he just give you his notebook because you asked him?"
"More or less," you hedged, then realized as long as you had her here and calm, there wasn't a whole lot of point in hiding things from her. "I've got a magic power that makes people make choices when I ask them questions."
She nodded understandingly, smiling a little. "Oh, sure, that explains why I came over here. Would my lips really have gotten huge if I hadn't?"
You couldn't help but grin a little at how she was taking this; it was pretty cute, even if you had magically **** her to act this way. "Yeah, they would have. It's pretty crazy, but I only got this today, so I'm sort of testing it out. That's why I asked you over here, actually, to help me figure out a few things about how it works."
"Oh, cool," she said, crossing her legs. Though she stayed serene, a slight frown crossed her lips. "You're not gonna do anything too weird to me, are you? I hope not, that would suck."
Wow. You'd done some pretty crazy things with your power already, but this was just...surreal. The calm state you had her in made this whole conversation seem almost normal, but at the same time she was pleasantly asking you not to use your magic powers on her too much. "Uh...well, I probably am, sorry. Tell you what, though, when we're done I'll do my best to make sure you have the option to reverse or forget anything you want, and I'll even let you pick a question I can ask you to help you out. Fair?"
She gave you her placid little smile again. "Sure, that's nice of you. I'm Serena, by the way."
You smiled back, reaching out to shake her hand. "Hi, Serena, I'm John." You clicked your pen and flipped the notebook open. "Let's get started."
