Chapter 6 by KingOfBohemian KingOfBohemian

Next week

The Yearbook Committee

By the week after Oliver received that text message containing a website link tailored to the seniors in school; everyone had seemed to know about it. Well, not every one but literally every male senior in the school knew about it and had been keeping it the best known secret in the world. After reading that threat Oliver knew he wouldn't talk about it, ever. No one else seemed to be talking about it, but there was one kid that had mysteriously disappeared.

Rumor had it that Miles Newman had some sort of emergency and wasn't going to be able to continue in the school year. When Oliver inquired into where Miles had gone it seemed that he had moved out of town and no one knew where he went. Oliver continued to wonder today if it was because of the website that Miles was gone.

But that was the least of his concerns at the moment. Throughout the week Oliver had noticed that more and more people didn't want to talk to him. His friends had been increasingly disappearing and that was disheartening but he still had the yearbook committee.

The bell rang just as last period started and Oliver took his seat. Instead of starting class the teacher let everyone socialize and came up to Oliver, she tapped him on the shoulder and motioned for him to follow her outside the classroom. Oliver did so obediently and didn't think much of it but once the door to the classroom shut and him and the teacher were left in the hall, Oliver grew increasingly nervous.

"Oliver, sweetie..." the teacher started to say

"What is it, Mrs. Connor?"

"I'm so sorry, but the school board has taken off a few spots on the yearbook committee and unfortunately since you had the least amount of photos produced last year they decided to cut you from the group. I'm sorry again Oliver."

The teacher returned to the class and started getting people busy while Oliver just stood speechless in the hall. The school board made that kind of decision? That had to be utter bullshit! The yearbook was run by that very teacher, if she didn't want him there, why didn't she just say so!

Oliver kept a stiff upper lip as he returned into the class and made sure to act like nothing happened. The one thing that Oliver really looked forward to the entire day was just suddenly ripped from his hands unexplained, it was incredible hurtful.

Maybe talking to Katie would make Oliver feel better?
